I've started this thread so you can post pics and tech details of your trusty rally steeds here.

I'm leaning towards "slow and steady" for this car, so it's basically a "box stock" Fly 911 SC Rally with a SCX motor in the optional green pod with fine tuned suspension
I'll probably use either the "Jagermeister" or the "Shell" 911 body. Hope to have it in the mail by the end of the week.

Let me guess..... 83-85 grams heavy and a 2.7 gear ratio
For the sake of comparison it should give you a top speed just above 17 Feet per second, and about 100 g*cm torque on the rear wheels at cornering speed.

Need to test a few more gear ratios, but with a 2.8 ratio it gives me about the same top speed as the NC-1 example above, but about 25% more torque at the wheels. So a bit more torque and brakes, but still very very easy to drive.
In comparison the stock Fly Rally-1 motor with stock 10/26 gears generate about 2.3 times more torque at the wheels than the NC-1 example, and is in my opinion too powerful to be comfortable on the tight tracks. The NC-2 is even worse, but still a few NC-2 cars made some very good results last year, so.....
BTW: what do you guys prefer on those bumpy tracks: Ninco PRO spring suspended guide or Slot.it big wood guide?

Love your choice of car. a bit of variety is always good.
I'm not sure if it's the camera angle or if the car isn't finished yet but it appears that the the wheels especially the rears are sticking out past the wheel arches somewhat. They'll have to be neatly tucked in before you send it off.

Thanks Alan. The body actually isn't screwed on in that picture above so it is sitting oddly. Body is screwed on below I am adjusting with spacers to ensure the wheels will sit under the arches albeit only just.....

This is my second effort.
This car has had a new rear drive train and some weight.
I'm hoping this one passes the ground clearance rule.
The tires are SRS eurathane and seem to work OK on my treated track.
The standard rear rims were very proud of the guard so I am happy the car goes OK with new rims/tires under the guard.
The lights are a pain and work mostly at the front.
