Hi Guys, I found this post on the "other site" (SCI - hope I won't get rapped over the knuckles by the Mods for posting this link!
) Basically, what it does is it allows you to broadcast a live picture of your race timing software screen with a screen capture program via a FTP accessible website. Links to the FTP accessible website and the screen capture software are provided in the post and they're all FREE! The guy who discovered this service can explain it all better than I do, so just click on the link and read away! This would be a great way for us in the DUPR to follow the races live. All the hosts need to have is just a DSL or fast internet connection - no webcam needed as no video is being transmitted. Maybe this could be put in place for the last round of the Non-Podded at Shelmore Park ........ Phil....Phil?..........

Great idea Lim! One small problem, I cannot get my wireless connection to work in the shed the track is located in. Metal cladding is great for stopping the signal. I had every thing set up to transmit live coverage some time ago BUT the wireless signal is too weak.
I have started to run a Ethernet BUT it is a long run and partially under ground so still needs some work on the 46 meter run from router to the shed PC.

Phil, maybe a signal booster like one of these could work for you if it's available in Oz and not too expensive? An Ethernet cable can be a bit of a pain to lay especially if it has to be routed out of the house.

Lim: I have built a Yagi cut for the frequency but not enought gain so far, I have now recalculated the design for more gain and will have another go soon. Brought some more aluminium last week now only need some time.
I always seem to under estimate the gain. Did the same when I built my digital TV antenna, but at least the first one is now in use at my daughters and workd fine in her location, and my larger one workd well here.
