Well after much ado the cars arrived in their transit box,so the 1 st thing to do was to unpack and have a look at the general condition of the cars.

generally they are what you would expect, after 8 rounds some cars are really showing the signs of battle.

Wings missing from John Batich, terry Noe,Blue95,Phil Kalbfell, and Fangio.

Braids are not too bad, certainly all good enough to race, and some cars are low on tyres.

Sprint,John Batich, terry Noe and dave Kennedy are under the 1.6mm mark and after this round will be well under, some other cars may be uinder 1.6 after this round.

From my point of view I'm happy to let these cars run as they don't present any problems in as much as chassis hitting the track,I will be guided by our series director here as to what he decides is appropiate.

Of course I oiled the cars and had a general look at the underside to make sure all is well before going out for a few laps,Blue95 your crown gear is chipped, although it didn't seem to be a problem in running.

Lap times from this mornings shakedown run, please don't despair if your car is further down than it should be!

Espix 4.23 I'm keeping this one!
Fangio 4.449
Magoo 4.451
smallnails 4.50
Phil K 4.563
Boss 302 4.609
Oswald 4.617
terry Noe 4.621
First Corner Crash 4.719 tyre seems okay to me
davnic 4.73
BeeJay 4.828
aastes 4.891
Blue95 4.891
Dave K 4.949
Sports Racer 5.047
Sprint 5.109
John Batich 5.438
Pitlane3 6.21 (car stopped)

Like I said its too early to get too down if your car is down a bit, some cars just kept getting better as I got used to the car.

Very impressed with the Fly chassied F40's,is this typical of the Fly F40's??

I will get some pics up later on.

Terry: I hope these are the Podded cars?

Are the wings missing or just not on the cars and have to be fixed back on?

I vaguely recall that all cars not meeting the minimum 1.6mm ride height were to be burned or crushed?? Rule 4.12 appendix C sub clause ii).

Hat coat looking for nearest exit.

Hi Terry,
do I dare to ask what happened to my car?

I asked a few question after the last round, to get the car fixed, or at least looked at, it seems nothing got done.

If time permits, and with Steve's approval, is there a chance to get the car home and back to you, to get it fixed?

Seems to me that the guide is causing the problem, cleaned the pick ups, tried to improve contact, which did improve, but there is more work to be done in the guide area.

time should not be a problem,I reckon I'm at least 2 weeks from running.

Terry,
please sent the car home.
I will contact Steve about it.

Check your inbox for my address,
I will cover all postage costs incurred by you.
I could have done all this and other work in the last 3 weeks.

Terry, i think that the Fly Racing F40 has one of the best chassis' around, (i also have a Fly Racing BMW M1 thats just as good) so if you can get your hands on one don't let go.

You could be right there Phil.

But i still think the Fly Racing pod is one of the best around, certainly better than the SlotIt pod!

Thanks. Looks like a cross between a NSR and a SCX pod. Best or worst of both worlds?? B)
