Podded Round 9

That would have been the way I ran the non podded round and it would have allowed all car owners to see how their car was suited to my little track.
Trouble is,the cars have not arrived!
I have been told that the cars were posted "this week",but as tomorrow is the last day for receiving mail,I am starting to get very nervous about the running of this round.
I will keep all of you informed,if we miss this weekends time slot I'll have trouble running it in the near future because of upcoming committments.

I can't beleive the inconsiderate attitude shown here, surely there was enough time to get the cars reboxed, addressed and posted, but the "I don't give a **** attitude", prevailed and as a result I am unable to race to the schedule.
For me to now tell the boys that the races are off is bad enough, but at some time I will need to get them up here to race and as I'm not in the midst of suburbia, its a bit difficult to get 4 or 5 willing bods to drive up the freeway( an hours drive),so I really have no idea when I can reschedule this round,it could be as long as 3 weeks.
I'll be contacting aastes to inform him of this and see what he has to say.(he is the series director)
Sorry,I should add that yes, this is only slot cars, not cold war politics, but it should be fun,and I should not get too wound up with things, but I'm pissed because I was really looking forward to this, and it was to be a good example to my mates of what proxy racing was all about.mmm........don't know how they will see this, they think I'm nuts doing this thing, giving my car to complete strangers to thrash around unknown tracks anyway.

100% agree with above statement, no one has time for that sort of attitude...

Do you know when it was sent as it may be as simple as the postage delay like I encountered?

I would have thought that 3 weeks was ample time to get cars from one location to another,I would also have thought that a straight answer to when the cars might be here would not have been too big an ask.

Exactly,I think that the lack of communication was what let us all down.
Had I known of unavoidable delays then there would have been no problems, but I had gone ahead with organising other people to be here for the round and that,to me,was the biggest problem, don't give a monkeys about myself,I'm just concerned about inconveniencing others.

Actually running the event is quite easy, getting the people organised to do it and then get them there on time is another matter!

this is why no one contributes to the threads for the proxy anymore, why would you when you get jumped on as soon as you say what is perceived as the wrong thing.
It's a shame that it's turning out like this, i think maybe everyone needs to calm down.
I also think that maybe it shouldn't be run next year!

Lets give it a year to breath, everyone can relax inbetween, if needed they can enter the overseas proxies to get their fix.
Its the hysteria every year about something that takes it toll on the event, if its not about wd40 its about voltage, if its not about height its about the width, if its not about tyres its about track preparation, a simple question can blow out into a major issue that even the UN couldn't work out, and the person that asked the simple question gets lambasted for asking it.
People just have to relax about the whole deal but also have to be more considerate of those running the events.
I know its about the prestige of winning an event, as life gets more boring for some they need these little events to give them light in their lives, so in their minds its as big as sheep stations.
But people are going to ask questions about the event after its been run, its just the nature of people to ask
"can anyone shed light on my car why it dropped 10 laps in the last heat?"
You can't get angry at that, the problem with the interweb is that you cant see the persons facial expressions, so everything can get taken way out of proportion.
