For some mad and crazy reason, we have decided to run another 8 hour enduro. Same deal as last year, the race is run over two nights, with a parc ferme situation between nights (kinda, more on that later).

Friday night was the first night, with 2 heats of 2 hours.

This years race is using:

They took a bit more to prepare then the slot.its we ran last year, but hopefully they shouldn't blow up motors.

So, to the race.

Last years team Of Imkouwl and BMR (Wayne and Steve) now with Dolphin (Mark) are currently in the front, with a lead of 20ish laps. They had gotten out to around 65 laps, but my team in second plugged away and pulled in over half of those laps.

THe running, though, hasn't been completely trouble free. My team (myself, Rick1776ish and Termite (damo) lost a bunch of laps in the first heat, due to of all things our tyres actually went off. Rick was the contracted tyre supplier, but by accident :huh2: , the tyres meant for Waynes team ended up on our car.

And the other troubles? Well, unfortunately Triggy has suffered the most. A quarter way through the second heat, they popped a motor. No mannor of hot glue (in a hurry) would hold that bastard back in. The other troubles included a moved gear for Dave, Chris and Pauls team (sorry, forgot your online names!) and a stuffed up pitstop by Wayne (wood duck of the night goes to him.....if you take tyres off for changing, make sure you put both new ones on!). Due to the issues with Triggy's car, we have decided to let him re-attach the motor properly. The number of laps down at this stage is penalty enough.

The last few heats are due to be run in around a months time

Cheers

Fabio Shore-Grips do NOT go off. My plan of supplying team Imkouwl with a dud set of tyres was perfect right up to the point when I forgot which set of tyres were the duds. :huh2:

Anyone wanting a set of Fabio tyres please inquire with my sales agent Hoffy. They last 2 hours and 1300 laps on Ferradore which is harsher than 10 rounds of the Aus proxy.
cheers

Thanks Hoffy for another fun night of racing :o It’s quite interesting how things turn around and strategies become more important than just good driving.
After 2700 laps and only 20 laps different if you do the maths that’s 0.04 of a second per lap. considering my expert strategies and losing 30 odd laps to tyre change that went really bad :) (I felt like Garth Tanders pit crew) It’s not going to take much for all to be in contention for a podium finish.

Cant wait for the final race :o

At least this explains the sudden dearth of dud cheques, that were previously whizzing around the proxy organisers.....

rick is recycling them as tyres!! LMAO..!!! :P :D :D :D   Do they go thump..thump ..thump...and leave little W prints on the track???... :D :D :D :P
