sidecar steve
Ooookay then. Finally got a chance to get to the remaining cars for a quick impression and photo shoot. ESPSIX Capri, Fly chassis, Slot.it wheels, MJK tyres, Ninco sprung guide, inline Cartrix motor TX5, gearing 9/28. Well balanced, fast car and super smooth. Sits nicely on the track. Very different to all the other Capri's in the field. Must have a secret weapon under the bonnet bulge.....Why is it that all the cars with advertising are advertising something bad? Manic35 Capri, Fly chassis, Slot.it wheels, Slot.it tyres, Ninco sprung guide, inline Fly EVO2 motor, gearing 9/27. "Gee Sponge Bob, she's PUUURDY!". Killer paint and graphics....Oh and super smooth if a bit tail happy. Had fun powersliding this one!. SCAR Celica, MRRC Chassis, wheels, tyres, guide, sidewinder Scaleauto 30k motor, gearing 11/36 Totally stock and a bit hoppy as I recall my stock Celica was. Needs a steady hand and will be interesting to see how this goes. HMCSAT VW, Revell chassis, NSR wheels, Ninco tyres, Ninco sprung guide, in-line Slot.it 29k motor 8/27 gearing. Pretty smooth and easy to drive if a bit tippy. Definitely one better suited to a long fast track. It just looks sooo wild though! The wife remarked that it is a pretty green, like that emerald ring you keep promising me..... Kalbfelp Corvair, Ninco chassis, Slot.it wheels, Slot.it/NSR tyres, Ninco guide, in-line Slot.it 25k motor, 9/28 gearing. This car looks awesome on the track and has a really nice balance to it but seemed a little down on power compared to others. Very easy to drive though which, if you haven't figured it out by now, is the key to success in Proxy races. ! MANIMMAL. Escort, Scaley chassis, Scaley wheels, MJK tyres, Ninco sprung guide, in-line scaley slim motor 9/27 gearing. A very interesting car. Not overly quick but very stable and drives nicely but don't gas it to early exiting a corner. It tries to turn inside out. ANTONY Celica, MRRC Chassis, Slot.it wheels, Ortmann tyres, Ninco sprung guide, sidewinder Slot.it 25k motor, gearing 10/36 This one seems nicely weighted but It seems very tight and a bit hoppy. I just can't quite get a handle on this car. I think it might be the gearing or tyre choice. The 36T gear is almost on the ground and will be after some tyre wear. Antony, you have a PM. OLDSLOT Camaro, Scaley chassis, Slot.it wheels, MJK tyres, Ninco sprung guide, sidewinder Fly 25k motor, gearing 11/36. Another beautiful paint job. Car runs well, if a little tight. Hopefully should loosen up. Nice well balanced car, sounds like a supercharger as it winds up! Devious Dave Audi, SCX chassis, Slot.it wheels, MJK tyres, Ninco sprung guide, in line Fly Evo2 motor 9/28 gearing. Another sweet handling Audi! Very predictable driver and very quick around my short track and smooth to boot. And I love the "more 'bits' in the pits" decals...At least I think thats what it says, my eyesight aint what it used to be . Sportsracer Calibra, Ninco chassis, Slot-it front wheels & tyres, NSR rear wheels & tyres, Ninco sprung guide, in-line Spirit 26k motor, 9/27 gearing. Very similar in handling to Kalbfelp's Corvair with a bit more power. Slides nicely and is predictable to drive. The bread tie rollbar is, interesting, as is the driver. Now whe know what Skeletor does for a gig now that the cartoon series folded! Hellrazor Renault, NSR chassis, wheels and tyres, Ninco sprung guide, anglewinder Scaleauto 29.9kmotor, gearing 13/34 Another entry from the USA, this is one seriously out there looking car with the mumbo to match. Unbelievably smoot and predictable and the power hooks up very nicely indeed. Did show a tendancy for being a little tail happy but a rocket none the less. AASTES Anglia 105, Slot.it chassis, SCX Pro wheels, MJK tyres, Slot.it guide, sidewinder Slot.it 25k motor, gearing 11/34. Definitely not a Harry Potter plonker (unless he has his wizardly way with Hermoine...) This one is probably the lightest car in the field and is fast and smooth. In fact, it seems to float around corners if driven hard! So there you have it, but there is still one more car on its way (stay tuned!!) All things being beer, the weigh in will be tomorrow Edited March 18, 2008 by sidecar steve cheers! Steve
