Rob
Looks good Dave, are you going with your original layout shown here? Quote Regards Rob
Davnic74
Unfortunatly not Rob, won't fit if i'm to have 4 lane's at 100 mm centre's. Davnic74
I have decided that Gallery Raceway will be an improved version of the old Heany Park International Raceway... Most corner's will be opened up and the straight that was the over pass will go under. Edited January 2, 2009 by Davnic74 Quote Regard's David Team Phoenix 4 x Australian National Champion. triggy
That's all for today, ran out of screw's.. So long as you are not a screw loose Dave all should turn out alright! I like this side of the hobby. All the designing, building, scenery etc. Racing is the other half of the fun. I look forward to your progress. schuey19
If your driver's stations are along the main straight, visibility behind the over pass m ight be a problem when braking for the hairpin. schuey19
Maybe a downhill hairpin ala Symmons Plains? knoath
I'd straighten out that kink 'over' the return straight, it looks pretty violent.... And I'd go for driver's stations where the young slotter stands! It's all coming along pretty quickly Dave... the design has been simplified a fair bit from original though... schuey19
And I'd go for driver's stations where the young slotter stands! That's another option so that you won't have to raise the hairpin lead in. Davnic74
I think your right Dick..doing that solve's 2 problem's i have.. WOOHOO. But create's a visibility prob for the left hander going onto the main straight Have decided to do 105 mm centre's although one lane has measured at 98 mm on the straight Edited January 5, 2009 by Davnic74 Quote Regard's David Team Phoenix 4 x Australian National Champion. Rob
Dave I found the same thing, mine was just a smige tight in the 1/8 slot... easy fixed though. Mount the router bit in a drill put a grinding bit in a dremmel and spin up the drill and grind the necessary amount off to make it fit you slots. knoath
Hope you don't have to route the lot Dave... Try using Builder's Bog... goes hard as a rock and will take routing and sanding. Try using Builder's Bog... goes hard as a rock and will take routing and sanding. Thought is was doing a tip run tommorow and going to buy a pool table.. Just tried out Rob's suggestion and it is better, so going back out after tea and re bogging with the better stuff (has a hardener tube to mix in). Hopefully painting on Sunday. Seem's to be a wide recess with about 2 mm from braid to slot. Edited January 9, 2009 by Davnic74 Quote Regard's David Team Phoenix 4 x Australian National Champion. triggy
Seem's to be a wide recess with about 2 mm from braid to slot. Hhmmmm Rob, most gaps are .5-1mm max. from braid edge to slot edge(not slot centre). Check various cars guides in the slot to make sure the braids will adequately contact the track braid.
