Wobble
That looks a bit like 'tough love'. Not too keen on that surfboard looking wing either but I like the look of that P34 style front end
slotmadmac
That looks a bit like 'tough love'. Not too keen on that surfboard looking wing either but I like the look of that P34 style front end Agreed. I wasn't aware the P34 style car existed. I have some old Spanish Scalex P34 bodies so that's another build prospect for another day. Cheers for the inspiration. When looking at these old cars I tend to put a new variant together quickly to gauge potential before detailing a second but the March needed painting to tidy up the nose after the amputated surfboard wing I'm happy enough with it. As suspected it runs like the JPS Lotus and Tyrrell ELF - lapping my track in a respectable 7.1s. Edited September 17, 2016 by slotmadmac Quote Podiums are for short people. Wobble
Now aint that dainty, kind of like a ballet shoe front end
slotmadmac
You could always build the 'other nose'... Here we go.... a March Ford donor body and a P34 front end are now welded together. Almost a perfect fit. Air scoops are just cut down and shared from brass rod Time for some putty. Quote Podiums are for short people.

slotmadmac
First cut. Needs more work but happy to this point. I have also cut down and replaced the struts on the rear wing to drop it and get it out behind the car. Edited October 22, 2016 by slotmadmac Quote Podiums are for short people. slotmadmac
Paint on (Tamiya Italian Red) and time for a test fit pre-detailing I inverted the headers and added some aluminium tube pipes. I'm pretty happy with the overall look of the car. It will run a 18k Scalex motor, stock wheels and NSR Ultragrips on the rear to be legal for our club classic F1 class. Decals and clear coat on tomorrow. Quote Podiums are for short people.
slotmadmac
And all done. Car runs well but is probably a bit fragile for the club racing roster. A rare shelf queen for me. Quote Podiums are for short people.
