  2. I’ve cut down a few V8 Supercars into Racing Utes before. This one runs especially well on a stock chassis that’s been lowered on cut down body posts, with Slot It running gear and alloys on the rear. Mainly NASCAR decals - thanks Pat. It’s been a hot minute since I’ve cut anything up so good to get that smell of Tamiya Putty in the air again.

Hah - Trevor must have driven it into the ground. It sounded like my coffee grinder, and hopped like a kid with a pogo stick. you can check if it qualifies for a tick for resuscitation on Thursday

Haha. I built that car. It's just an old early '90s Scalextric 911 body sitting on a JS Design chassis. I've always had a soft spot for stock Scalextric gears - and when I sold it a couple of years ago, that was a very stable, responsive runner - smooth and surprisingly quick.

    A wee project

Picked up an oddball cabriolet Porsche - no idea the brand of body or the motor, but could be a Slot.it MX15 as in their DTM cars. Has a 3D chassis under it. Dumped the horrid Scaley plastic running gear, now all Slot.it, drives like it is on rails and runs similar times to a DTM car. That got me motivated to resume a project to make a house class of old Pro-slot models, as Mac built for the Pie-Bone teams classic last weekend. It should sit nicely alongside those, and I am giving them similar running gear. The green Ferrari 355 Cabriolet is done, halfway through the next unit. Have again turned down the plastic rear wheels to make inserts for the Slot.it 17x8 hubs.
  10. It seems great value but I have no experience with the, Cheaper than most cars also and seems worth the try.
  11. Oops! Sorry for the 'triplication' of images. Den
  12. Having suffered the misfortune to drop a wheel bearing through the cooling fan hole of my trusty Powertech MP3800 it seems inevitable that I will be looking for a replacement power supply for my Area 3 tyre truer. The electrical arc-ing and tripping of a domestic circuit breaker would suggest the damage is terminal! The retail price for an MP3800 is now around $220, although there are a couple of cheaper options on EBay and other marketplaces. My question is "Has anyone had experience with the type of power supplies shown in the accompanying pictures?" The ratings seem to stack up in regard to Area 3's requirements but you can't always believe what you read. If I can spend less than $100 rather than over $200 I'd be very pleased. Any suggestions or advice would be appreciated. Den
  13. Thanks for hosting last night Ross. Love the Phillip Racing class . They suit the track really well.
  14. Moffat never giving up as usual. Wasn’t too happy with Ward chopping him just before the dogleg on the last lap. Funny how we all go on about the good old days and Grice just ran away from Richards. Nothing close about the racing at all.
