Nuremberg 2020

29 Jan 2020

Posted by SlotsNZ In: Front Page News
With NSR, Carrera, Scalextric, SCX, and Galileo Engineering (Slot.it & Policar) at the Fair,
we can be certain of lots of new eye candy and a few surprises in the next couple of days

Maybe others can add some of what they have seen so far. I'll get the ball rolling
with a video of the already announced Nissan Godzillas, 3 liveries on show as you
progress through the vid. Note the surprise in the running gear.
Inline with the MX15 motor - and a suggestion by Maurizio that they could run
alongside the DTM cars.

And one surprise - Slot.it's 2nd GT3 car, a running mate for the Maserati [I didn't see this one coming]

Scalextric 2020

07 Jan 2020

Posted by Vinno In: Front Page News
Scalextric have announced their 2020 lineup with some interesting new tooling. Below are a number of the notable cars to look forward to this year. For the full list head over to the Scalextric site.

https://www.scalextr...w-for-2020.html

No1 on the list for Australia must be the Torana A9X this time in the 2 door Hatchback version. Bob Morris is again the first Torana off the mark as he was with the L34.

Next up is the Mustang GT4 race car which I am looking forward to. This class is what they should be racing as the premier category in Australia.

Next up is another touring car, this time British. The Ford Capri Mk 3 should be popular here as well and hopefully at some stage we see a Masterton version as it raced at Bathurst.

Another I have been waiting for for many years is the 6 wheel Tyrrell. I couldn't wait any longer and bought an SCX version a few years ago but this one will drive as well as it looks.

Notable mention looks like a good racing class, the Chev Camaro IROC.

Coming From Sideways

11 Nov 2019

Posted by SlotsNZ In: Front Page News
The company went into hiding over the European summer - starting to wonder if Chris the owner has a secret life outside of Slot Cars . . . . . :D

But over the past few weeks he has sprung back into life.
Here's some eye candy coming our way.

Toyota Celica - same livery as was done by MRRC. This one may be a tad quicker out of the box

Scaleauto Track System - You heard it here first folks

22 May 2019

Posted by SlotsNZ In: Front Page News
ScaleAuto have now announced the full specifications of their track system, including one item that surprised me - SIX Radii, with four being available for distribution shortly, then two further stages over the coming year. The prize for spotting the repeated typo is personal gratification, and the knowledge that English is probably your first language.

What you say, first Policar now this?

Well good I say, we now have two track systems under the management of dedicated hobby slotting companies. So this is all future-proofing for the hobby.

Here we have
a plastic track system from a dedicated hobbyist company which is suitable for both 1/32nd and 1/24th scale.
SIX radii means a very flexible design platform for club tracks.
With the sad decline in hand skills of the younger generation, we just don't have the future of hand built wood tracks we have been blessed with in the past.
They are offering the components in 4 units retail packing and 50 units bulk packing for club use - pricing is sharp, especially for the bulk pack product.

What Have We Here?

22 Feb 2019

Posted by Vinno In: Front Page News
I am very appreciative of Armchair Racer to give me the opportunity to be able to try out the new Policar track system. Over the weekend I will give my impression of the way the track drives with both the supplied BRZ and other cars.
