  1. Hi guys, Jen & I are planning a motorcycling tour of New Zealand later this year or early next year. What's the best 1:1 historic car race meeting over there and when is it. I'd like to get to see Tasman or whatever else there is down there that we never get to see race in the UK TIA Cheers John
  2. Hi Chris, Thanks for that. Sorry about the delay but I haven't been on this forum for a while. Cheers John
  3. This looks great. I like the way you've done the tonneau cover. Any chance of a close up please? Cheers John
  4. Hi Steve, My camera is away being repaired but I'll post some photos when I get it back. Cheers John
  5. Thank you guys, I have already glued and trued them. I use a flexible superglue available from abslot sport. I haven't had a chance to run the car yet. I'll hopefully try it at either of the clubs I go to during the week. I'll let you know how it goes. Cheers John
  6. Hi guys, I'm in the process of building up an old Monogram Chaparrall 2D for next months Turin vintage meeting Link here I've just found a pair of MJK rubber tyres that I'd forgotten I had. I probably bought them for some long abandoned project. I know a lot of rubber tyres respond well when treated with oil. Is there any special treatment reccomended for these tyres? TIA John
  7. It looks great. I'm in the middle of building one of these for a UK Retro meeting but using the Scaley bike motor. I hope it looks something near as good as yours. Cheers, John
  8. It depends on your perspective. I race at two clubs. One races 1/24th scale retro scratch builds, the other plastic RTR cars in classes with varying levels of modification from just glueing and truing to replacing motors, gears wheels, tyres and axles. Personally i get the most pleasure from getting together a pile of piano wire, brass, a plastic kit and all the running gear and creating something. I'm not the best builder or the best racer but the cars are all mine and each one I build is a bit better than the last.. Each to their own. Cheers, John
  9. I wish I could be there as I had a great time when I visited during my holiday. Have a great night. Cheers, John
  10. I'll start the ball rolling, here's one of my routed track. Note, for extra realism the bikes are parked near the Burger stand Cheers, John
  11. Hopefully I'll spend a night racing at Ged's in Melbourne while on holiday from the UK. My excuse is that it gives my girlfriend Jen a chance to have a girly night and catch up with Jane who we are staying with. I've also had a play round Rad Trax when I was in Las Vegas a couple of years ago. I have an ambition to race on each continent now. Cheers, John
