I now have 92 (all runners plus 4 non runners or wrecks) thanks to four I bought from Smallnails collection the other day.

Purchased 42 in the last 12 months (new and used) - no wonder the financial manager is getting toey! Oh, and two became wrecks.

Now we just need smallnails home address, and the family schedule so we know when to "visit" without disturbance to lighten his burdon.

 

BTW, for the guy who did the calculation of 3 per work day . . on smallnails - my easy solution

1) Start with EBay

2) Befriend a dealer or five whom you bought from on EBAY who own their own slotshop or are in charge of a slot club's shop . . . .

3) Ask for an inventory list, and specials list they want to quit

4) Be totally reckless with the credit card

5) Double up "just in case", and "John might want one too" [substitue any friend's name for John]

6) Visit here regularly for moral support/justification

just wait until she starts talking about some undies or

let her talk herself into buying whatever, agree with her totally,

then when she's spent $27.50

on a half inch square piece of nylon and dental floss

and thinks your the nicest guy ever for letting her splurge

simply say, "well if you want to be nice there is something I'd like...."

works every time!

All I WILL say is I found some USA dealers with nearly all the remaining Vanquish cars I don't have, at least SHOWN as available on their web site, and today I stumbled across some missing Ninco classics and McLarens, all new, from a UK dealer.

Well I did a stocktake of my collection again today and I can proudly say I must have beaten my addiction because I have actually got a lower count than I had at the beginning of the year. (I know alot of you guys would disapprove of this but the important thing is quality over quantity).

 

Last year I had about 260:

88 Scalextric

65 FLY

51 Ninco

28 SCX

15 Slotit

8 Proslot

5 Revell

 

Now I have about 250:

93 Scalextric

58 FLY

45 Ninco

Sometimes you have to go backwards to go forward.

 

I do the same thing every six months, drop 6-10 cars that don't do that much for me and purchase a few that really do. I have been hovering around the 100 mark for 6 months but really want to keep with my new years res which was to focus on quality not quantity.

 

But still Jamie, only 14 Slot.its...I would have thought you'de have have everyone for sure.

I started out with one scalextric nissan 350z but my collection has grown to about 20 cars.

Currently have approx 700 cars. Mostly scalextric with fly,slot.it and a few others. Have been down sizing the collection in the last few months on ebay. Have around 25 cars which I use to race and the rest stay in the boxes as shelf queens. Only down sizing as I have multiples of most cars.
