manic35
Guys, Firstly, this is a no wife viewing poll and any post made here is done so without prejudice Q. How many cars do we each own? (It would also be of interest to breakdown any posted total by manufacture). For example, I own a total of 26 slot cars, they breakdown as follows; •Scalextric - 7,•Ninco - 6,•FLY - 5,•Slot-it - 3,•ProSlot - 1,•Carrera - 1,•Cartrix - 1,•MRRC - 1 and•SCX - 1. manic35
Guys, Just realised I should of made the categories 20 to 50, 51 to 100 and 101 to 250! Sorry, if you own exactly 50 or 100 cars, you can pick which category to vote in Cheers Manic Quote News, Reviews, Views & How-To's on everything slot car and scenery related
tsmsoccer
I have approx 120 and the majority would be Scalextric followed by Fly, Slotit, SCX, Ninco, Reprotec, Pink Kar and Proslot. My problem is that my cars are kept in a display case in the house so she who must be obeyed knows every time there is a new addition. I must follow the advice of some others on the forum and start storing some cars in the garage away from investigating eyes Charlie

I'm thinking you should treat yourself to a FLY one day soon. tvwino
well, I've got about 150 cars broken down as follows: (proved a good exercise, didn't realise exactly how many, or the breakdown until doing this) Scalextric = 92 Ninco = 16 Fly = 22 Carerra = 6 Vanquish MG = 6 Slot-It = 4 SCX = 3 AutoArt = 2 Spirit = 2 Other (Artin, Racer, ProSlot, MMK etc) = 5 I keep mine in their boxes, in a 7ft tall bookshelf. It's too chaotic to know if a new one has been added, so for the moment I'm doing OK, once I get them into the house unobserved. The trouble is the kids, who happily tell mum, wow, you should see Dad's new... The 2 kids have another 40-50 or so between them, Scalextric mainly, a few Ninco and a couple of Fly, Carerra and an AutoArt Nissan 350Z just added today for my eldest sons birthday. oldtamiyaphile
I was surprised that I've got mostly SCX! 18 SCX A lot of rally cars, and I like my WRC's to have 4wd 12 Scalex (Mostly F1's) Scalex are probably my least favorite brand 10 Fly 9 Ninco - My favorite brand 8 Carrera - The classics are great openning hood on the Camaros is unique in 1/32 slots I believe 2 Proslot 1ea Autoart, Pinkcar, Teamslot, Slot.it, Monogram 5 Scratch builds I've been at it for about a year. I've got other hobbies too that eat into the slot car budget (my Heli is worth about 35 slot cars , not to mention the whole 32nd Reich thing...). speedtacker, I suggest getting a Fly Classic next (Ferrari 512, Porsche 908, Chevron (cheap on eBay). Eno the Wonderdog
I'm marginally frightened to see that me & the boys have bought 41 cars this last year I have another 4 awaiting restoration & 13 '32nd kits awaiting surgery - 2 28th I'll experiment with or turn into pushalongs for the 2yo. There's 2 more RTR's on the way.. but.. The missus has offered me a display case but I don't think I want her knowing how many we have! Rene
heyo, my collection is quite tiny compared with most of you guys, mine consits of all Scalextric, only 11 of them though: Ford AU falcon (pirtek racing) Ford BA falcon (cat racing) Ford GT40 (black) Ford Mustang (no prizes for guessing my fave make o car ) Chev Corvette L88 (red with blue cross + stars) Chev Camaro 1995 (use to be Escort) 1934 Packard (use to be F1) Dodge Viper RT/10 (use to be Porsche) 6 wheeler (use to be Le-mans car) two are underconstruction. i guess what make my collection a bit unsal is that all teh cars have been either modified or scratch built. phoeno29
Interest topic and great to see who is new and who is an old hand at collecting cars. Either way, I still think we get plenty of excitement out of a new car. I buy most of mine online but theres still something exciting about driving to the hobby/toy shop and not knowing what your going to find. I have 46 cars, mainly rally and F1. I have one or more of each F1 car (including a BAR I painted) and with the recent release of the new ford focus, nearly 2 of each rally car. (SCX of course) My break down is 26 SCX 9 Scaley 4 Ninco 3 Fly 2 Carrera 2 Artin (On their way, thanks Roland) Quote Find me at Card Guys for custom trading cards
grt
Hi guys, I think I have about 70 cars, all Scalextric. Most of them are 60's and 70's GT cars, as they were the cars I started off with when I got my first set 35 years ago, and slowly started building it up. It has increased dramatically in the last 5 or so years, since I discovered ebay (still not sure whether or not that was such a good thing ). I have thought about branching into other brands, particularly when I see the quaility and detail of some of them, but then, where would it all end?? (I'd be broke, that's where it would end! ) I have decided to simply try to complete my collection by getting 4 of each type of car I like (but only 2 of each of the F1's). There are only a handful of cars left to get now, but some of them are quite rare. I still need 3 cobra's, 3 Ferrari GTO's and one French Porsche 917. (All donations gratefully accepted ) I have pics of all of them posted on my website for anyone who hasn't seen it yet: http://www.alphalink.com.au/~gt/ Quote Graeme ~~~~~~ (Life is like a sewer....................What you get out of it depends on what you put into it!) https://gtoutweb.com/index.htm

(All donations gratefully accepted ) GRT, I know exactly where you are coming from. There are so many manufactures and so many models it can get a little depressing when you list all the cars you would like to add to your collection. I raced Scalextric cars as a boy and its only in the last few years that I have returned to the hobby. Naturally I returned to my roots and started collecting Scalextric cars again. I purchased a Fly Lister Storm for something different and I'm so glad I did. My point.....you REALLY owe it to your self to try a different manufacture. I would recommend a Fly - You won't be disappointed and Fly makes a large range of models that would fit right in with your collection. Oh, good luck with the remain cars required to complete your collection; I'll keep my eyes open.
