Ember 71 Report post Posted February 1, 2010 Love that first shot of today's series. And it seems like Australia has a new 'big thing' on it's tourist trap list. Yngwie, any ideas which ones you want? I've, not surprisingly, probably got most of them. Quote Computers. They'll never catch on. knoath 14 Report post Posted February 3, 2010 Nathan, I don't have the control box at my place atm, so even if I did have it sorted, I'd have no timing anyway. The track is rewired and running, lapping fine. I was suprised to read this piece of sarcasm: i mean we need a pub on the track when we have a v32 race, dont we Hmm... spotlights working fine.... tell me if it's too bright. Once Slotts got some time I will get him over to look at some of the other timing programs, so Stopline may have called its last track call here! Oh, Moe.... knoath 14 Report post Posted March 3, 2010 Haven't had a lot of time out in the room, but a bit here and a bit there. I have started on a church at Jack's request, (Modelling loosely off one a few K's from home in an undeveloped area, still quite rural...) Also Jack's Fresh Fish 'n' Chip shop (!) and there'll be a bakery and a butcher's along the same lines as the general store. I had a go at making the footpaths last night. Using foamboard I put down a layer of joint compound a few weeks ago. I scribed some expansion joints with the sharp end of a bamboo skewer, then added some cracking in the corners of the concrete. The joint compound is an off white/cream colour, so I made up a very light black/grey wash and brushed it on, dragging a cloth over it to add some streaking. The cracks have taken the wash a little darker and I must say I was pretty happy with it. I have the pub and general store sitting on one section, I'll get a pic tonight. I think I need a week off work to get stuck in, but I doubt that will happen any time soon. I'll get some pics tonight if anyone wants them. knoath 14 Report post Posted March 4, 2010 Here's a few pics of the concrete... after 24hrs it seems the detail has been absorbed by the joint compound so I might have to go over it with a fine brush. It'll have to be a small one though as I'm running out of room and I don't want it to end up looking like a Pommy loft track! Too cluttered... you know?
