Do you have any modern cars in Australia.

We have absolutely oodles of Asian cars in Australia, and growing amounts of Euros...which makes this thread all the more interesting.

Have to agree with you there Haystack... I don't really care what brand the metal is, I just find classic better than plastic...

That's not to say that newer cars can be nice though...

We had modern cars years ago, they're now called classics

What great cars those Alfa's were. I had a Guilia back in the seventies. I should have smelt a rat when the owner couldn't let me see it before 10.00 pm. Never buy a second hand car in the dark. It fell apart almost before my eyes first the motor then the body work. It simply died of car cancer. I actually threw it away. Then in the early oughties I bought a 156. Wrong. This one had a gear box failure, they quoted 5 weeks to get a new gearbox. When I got the car back I was driving it home when I noticed the odometer read 0000001. I called the garage to ask where my missing 21,000 miles were. They replied "that's happened before". We have no idea why. Then the motor started to just cut out completely .Usually at around 80mph in the fast lane of the M6 when halfway around a large lorry. They never found the reason why. I hope the current owner keeps to the B roads.

Great cars to look at, Alfa's, just to look at.

Yeah, they do rust easy. My boss is alpha mad and even he admits they have a minor issue with corrosion. Hes got a couple of Berlinas and some GTVs. He races the Berlina and is converting a GTV rally car to a circuit car.

They start to rust, when you open the sales leaflet.

380kw at the rear wheels from a stroked 302 !!

That's over 500hp which would equate to nearly 600hp at the crankshaft !!

I don't think so.

Cheers,

Busy day today Gazza plenty of interesting cars there. Saw a nice purple XA 2 door GT myself today but wasn't in a position to get a good picture.
