Vinno
Am waited with bated breath for a xlot review! Had a look at the Porsche today. It is more to scale than normal Ninco's, a bit longer and appears more like the Scalextric 997 in Proportion. The chassis is a work of art very Plafit looking, with belt drive. The front end tilts and the front and rear axle height is adjustable. They are really not bad value even at $160.00 or whatever they end up when you look at what you get. I just don't have a reason to buy one so you may need to look to someone else for a review unfortunately. Unless I can borrow one while I am on holidays. espsix
Am waited with bated breath for a xlot review! Well, look what turned up at my place on friday. Comes with a little tool box of sorts. Compered to the ninco. The Chassis has plenty of adjustments, but can be fiddly to ste up, the body mounts are hard to get right (this one was uneven, so the body was of to one side), took a little while to set up, with just a mm or 2 of free play. Motor adjustment is already at max, so no room for the drive belt stretching. Ride hight adjustment at rear is great, if a little tricky to get even. my best advice would be, get yourself a vernier to help with setting up. On the track. with only a little body to chassis play and rear ride hight the only adjustments i made, i have to say that it's a great car "out of the box", tyres are quite grippy, car is smooth and quiet, but i found myself looking for my 15ohm controller. The car has a nice predictable slid to it, and the rear pulls back in smoothly. The car is not overly quick, and seems to be on par with my Ninco's, (mind you, i don't have much luck in getting Ninco's to go quick). One thing i noticed, is the front tyres slow the car down by 2 to 3 tenths a lap, and getting them off the groung makes to car zippier. This was done at 12v and i think it would be a much happier car at a higher voltage. I'm going to let some of the boys i race with have a play, and i'll let you know what they think. I also got the new Ninco FORD GT, what a great looking car, put on some MJK's, gave them a true, and i have to say, what a nice car, "ninco hop" is nowhere to be seen, my best Ninco yet. manic35
Certainly looks AMAZING! Those wheels look fantastic, remind me of a Slot.it R390's wheels. Ride height looks excellent too, how does it go on the track? Great photos and background BTW gazza. :alcohol: Quote News, Reviews, Views & How-To's on everything slot car and scenery related

Bulsara
Ferraris are nice, but there is something about Lambo's. Can't put my finger on it but they are so desirable. I still think the Miura is the best looking car ever built. Considering it was first released in the same year as the HR Holden you have to appreciate it's advanced specification, plus how brave and inspired the designers and engineers were. first corner crash
I think most hard core Ninco racers have been waiting for this one. Pretty much the same length as the Mosler but significantly wider and its not high. In stock form it is a bit of a porker but all that car has to weigh something. it will be interesting to see if this becomes the weapon of choice for Ninco runners. I know a couple of racers that are waiting to get their hands on the murciealago. I might have to get one eventually to see if it is better than a Mosler or Supra. rick1776
As Enzo once said to Ferruccio when the Ferrari he had ordered was delayed, "go away and make your tractors and leave the sports cars to me". Hmmm thems fighting words Enzo. Quote cheers rick1776

My Mosler was cutting 4.5s at Ashleys last time and you kept going past me like I was running a Scaly. LOL Rick Ray will be happy to hear that as he built that car for me. I still have the castrol livery one that i built that handles just as well but the car has a bit slower motor. Got to love a guy with a laser tach i think i gave him 3 nc5s and he used the quickest one in that car. The second quickest one is a good one to... better than most. I am saving it for something special maybe the porsche cup if it gets the nod. Goes to show there is luck involved all the NC5s i have bought after market have been average and i think i am up to about 8 at this stage. I got a reasonably good one in my megane dog in the white supra. The two quickest ones have come from 30 dollar cars off ebay. Quote 4x national champion 6x national runner up. manimmal
got mine yesterday from Ged. if it ran out of the box anywhere near as well as it looks i would have been happy. the spur gear has spun off and will no longer stay in place for over a lap before it sounds like a coffee grinder full of ballbearings, the rear end needs substantial bracing to avoid mega chatter, and the front end doesn't sit in the guide very well at all - sh!tbox. i've changed the braid, the front and rear tyres, braced it and trimmed off the chassis plug things a la carrera (nice work design jerks), next is to change the gear for one that works. I guess i'm used to cars being usable out of the box... when the replacement gear is fitted i expect it to run much smoother and behave better generally, the potential is there. i don't have a ninco mosler so i can't compare there, i can tell you it is faster than my well set up porsche, my lambo and the ferrari, even now. i think the car is worth the effort though - it's car porn!!! Vinno
Manimmal I work on all my Ninco's as they need it to get the most out of them. The basic bits are there for a perfect race car they just need some TLC. I like setting them up and could probably get away with a kit really. I agree though that they are generally crap out of the box as wheels often spin off the hubs. Yes it is car porn. I might have to get the Carbon Fibre decal sheet out for this one. manic35
I don't usually go in for the Nincos but I couldn't get this one out of my head - It just looks so good! I just ordered the 'Scream' which will look great to beside my Ninco Gallardo.
