BMR
Started on the GTR Torana , this is how its coming along , shouldn't be too long before its ready to mold and make . Don't judge it too harsh yet its only in its whitey underpants theres a lot of measuring / sanding and gluing to go yet. The bonnet bulge looks off centre in the photos but its not really its not Im going a little over scale as its a skinny thing but it will still be a narrow body . should look Ok along side the early Cortinas and Escorts . It will most likely suit a chassis with an inline mounted motor when its finished GTR XU1 Torana Specs 1:1 scale Specifications in millimetres Conversion to inches Height 1436mm (from road to rooftop) Height 56.53 inches Width 1544mm [u Width[/u] 60.78 inches Length 4387mm [u Length [/u] 172.71 inches Wheelbase 2540mm Wheelbase 100 inches Front track 1326mm (centre of rim) Front track52.20 inches Rear track - 1301mm (centre of rim) Rear track 51.22 inches Conversion to 1/32 in true scale Specifications in millimetres Conversion to inches Height 44.87mm Height 1.77 inches Width 48.25 mm Narrow huh ! BMR
The MJK boys showed me some new alloy rims last Friday night they are 13mm diameter and 8mm wide they use a Scalextric mini tyre on the rear (MJK make a tyre) 8mm wide at a guess and a even smaller tyre on the front rims 5-6 mm wide I think ? They are getting tooled up to make inserts for there rims as well. More goodies = more choice . The new MJK rims are more to scale for a Torana , also Pattos bpw131009g and bpw130609g alloy rims suit the smaller wheel arches on the Torana.
