New Car's For My Garage.

Recommended Posts

great news, Difinity - you will not regret this, and yes - a resin body will be a darned good starting point.

I am absolutely open to anything you want - either here, in your own thread you start or by PM or even offer you my direct email.

It's exactly what I've found so exceptionally welcoming in the group of scratch builders - everyone will pitch in. Get stuck, or in trouble - and someone (if not many) will come straight back offering suggestions and alternative ways out.

After all, all of us have had to make a start - and that's the hard bit for most..... deciding to take one on.

They will consume an awful lot of your time, however - but every little bit will gain you new skills and ways to get much closer to understanding just how one of these little cars are developed.

Keep it very basic - like my chassis started out... I'm not fully aware of the 3D chassis - most likely fine, but learning to bend and solder up a piano wire and brass one was indeed a treat to achieve... aside from the resin body, I literally made the little car - but using 3rd party components for the running gear etc.

Let me know - probably not here... I'll slip you a PM now and you can make up your mind which way you want to run with it... (excuse pun).

frats,

Rosco

New Scalex Cougar fitted with better looking Pioneer Trans Am wheels and tyres. I also sliced the front off the chassis and glued it to the body so that I could drop the nose 2mm and get rid of the big gap over the front tyres.

Looking good there KarKraft...

I did the same to mine, and it completely changed the handling. Now it's nice to drive.

Picked up this very nice little Carrera.

Got one of those great looking Stingrays for my wife - she always wanted one..

Sad thing, I have to strip the paint and produce it in red - that was the condition she would accept it....

Love the gold over black... going to be a shame to flush it down the sink...

Bought a couple of Fly trucks to race on Benmill raceway.

Took just 2 laps to strip the contrate gears on both trucks.

Wow, you got 4x to 8x longer out of them than my last few fly trucks...

Worst part is that they are also using a plastic pinion in some, and the pinion strips too...
