Iceman's Slot.it Mclaren F1 Gtr

Recommended Posts

I used MCW lacquers and my Aztek airbrush.

Corel Draw 12 to do the artwork, and an Alps printer.

I added the front winglets using 40 thou plastic sheet.

The car ran at Lemans in 1998,and placed 4th.

Nice work again John, you have been quiet for some time.

Alps printer is a dye sublimation printer, unfortunattly no longer made. Several other companies make much larger versions at much larger costs. The two we have at work cost just over $8,000.00 each so they wont let anyone put anything other than photo paper thru it. Alps printer are often on Ebay but expect to pay about $500.00 AUD plus postage.

Hi Dave,

I hope things are well.

I went to Victoria,British Columbia this weekend for a slotcar meet, and I saw Luf,whom I have not seen for at least a year.

thank you for the kind words.

I try to replicate a true livery whenever possible.

I enjoy doing the research on the particular car as I learn alot about the race cars as well as the races that they were in.
