Old Rusty Bent Track

Recommended Posts

G'day Everyone

Some months ago now I was sorting out old track pieces and it occured to me that perhaps some of the worst bits may be of use afterall. Here's what I did....

I collected half a dozen straights and cut between the pair of rails of each of them. This resulted in 18 bits of track, 6 wider sections and 12 narrow pieces. The narrow pieces still had one rail which I painted white then placed alongside the straights on my circuit and as these pieces are from the outside of old track it is possible to attach guard rails giving the appearance of a wider track and helps stop cars that fish-tail from knocking into things. The center wider sections, that have a rail on each edge, I used as roads for car-parks and service roads again with the rails painted white.

So if you have some old rusty track sections that would otherwise go in the bin consider this as one way to help the enviroment, it's good to renew, reuse and recycle. :o

'til next time close racing

kool! top idea!

An unmodified car is like a blank sheet of paper, aching to be drawn on.

Ren's 3 lane routed track with analogue pits and 2 car sudden death.
