Down Under Proxy Race Series 2007 - Rd 2

Recommended Posts

Howdy all,

Round 2 is quickly coming up. This time its another South Australian track, the Valley Raceway (The Valley Raceway ).

THe Valley raceway is a bit tighter compared to 6 Pines. It, though, is still a 4 lane MDF, ferrador coated track.

So, how will the cars goe on this track? With some nice flowing corners, I think a car that is smooth & Nimble will go well here. Power does come into play down the straight, but a car needs to be a bit more drivable then 6 pines.

The schedule is simple this week:

Thursday will be Practice & Qualifying.

Saturday will be race night.

We will try & keep everyone up to date as much as we can over the weekend. (& we will try and make notes on all cars as good as we can as well)

good luck to you all

P3's love Ferrador. And this time of year (approaching Winter down under) they shouldn't wear out too much.

I use P4s on ferrodor and they hook up pretty well.

Its going to be carnage on the tight track :vomit:

My money is on Chenglaw (LolaT290) or Beejay (Porsche 908) as long as they stay well clear of Phils (big mutha Mac). If an aggresive driver gets his hands on Phils car expect to see a lot of little Lolas and Porsche 908s into the barriers on the tight turns.

Do you still need drivers? Might come down and have a look even if you have a full driver list. Carnage I tell you, its going to be carnage. B)

Just what I wanted to hear, eh? By the way, did you know they named a saint after us? B)

Bingle ain't worried! That car is faaaast and rock solid (though it may not like the tight turns so much). :vomit:

Hope you can make it to race, Rick.

Bring it on, it's time I had a podium down under. B)

Carnage among the front runners, hoooray. This could be the big, make that only, chance for DUPRS's solo SCX entry to meander and lurch it's way up the standings.

Hmm, I see an interesting scrap coming up, guys. Power vs Driveability. Hope my little Lola is up to it. :vomit: That Pit Straight is going give the faster motors a little bit of an advantage, but Turns 4 thro' 8 should even things up some. Saturday can't come fast enough. B) May the best car win!! :D Wonder which proxy driver I can offer incentives to "accidentally" put Phil's and WCR's cars into the fencing at Turn 1. B)

Hey, so long as they try to use that lightweight French car of yours, good luck to 'em! :bday:

That's "Wet Coast", this here being the Pacific Rainforest. Try to keep up, Paul!

You need to get a better desk. One where your back is to the wall ...

Man, I realize that 9th ain't bad in this company, but sure hoped to be quicker. You just know that when the potes get nosted they'll also be pointing out that my car is a pain in the a$$ to drive as well ...

Anything below 6.0 seconds is really hooting on Kym & Jordans track. 5.5s....must have been taking a shortc cut. You got Pete and Phil out on their own but everybody down to 10th is really close. Might come down to drivability and a slice of luck.

Carnage I tell you, there will be blood everywhere

OK, its lunch time. Here is the feedback of the cars during the qualifying session, as noted by Jordan:

Manic35

The car feels tight. This could be due to the extreme high gearing. Car really struggles to pull out of the corners.

Mcgregor

A bit better on this track, but still very bouncy.

Fangio

This car is going to be an improver. Went realitively well compared to its results at 6 pines

Antony

Another car that went better here then 6 pines. Could do with some more power

Oswald

The thing was getting airbourne over the hump. Has a bit of a chatter which is slowing it down.

Rhys Filbee

Nice & smooth, but way underpowered

Steve Stewaret

It is lacking in overall grip

HMCsat

Again, not enough power

Phoeno29

Handles well. The lap times are not reflective

Sidecar Steve

Handles OK, but has nothing out of the corners

Mr Magoo

Silky Smooth, but did suffer from a few deslots on the limit

Pete N

Handles well & smooth. Good Motor. Well matched package for this track

Old Slot

The long tail causes the pendullem effect on this track...

Terry Noe

Took a few laps to warm up, but was quick when it did

Son of Sidecar

Very Skippy under acceleration, but still quick

Daisy Slot

Quick. Nice to drive on this track

Wet Coast

Fat....oh hang on, thats Bingle (or should that be BINGE...l The good old bingle loves his hamburgers & beer. Kinda reminds me of Elvis in his 40's). What I meant to say was Fast, but a bit chattery.

Hoffy

Handles wll. Could do with some more motor

Lenny

Really suprised. Thing handles really well

Beejay

Shudders under hard acceleration, but still quick

Devious

See Old Slot above....^

Chenglaw

Handles really well. This car should not be as quick as it is!!

Sports Racer

Really quick out of the corners.

Phil K

Do you charge to prepare slotcars?

Skippy under acceleration.

What, are you blokes still watching that show?

What I meant to say was Fast, but a bit chattery.

I'll assume you're talking about the car.

Great feedback there, and thanks. I was chatting with Terry earlier and he asked that his car just be kept in the fridge between heats. burnout.gif

Rick,

By all means, come along. We do, though, have enough drivers (Oswald & Magoo are going to give it a shot!!)

Cheers

Hmm, maybe, but it's still not fast enough if it's 5th on the list and 2/10ths off the pace. Maybe I should have dropped in the V12/3 21k to give it a bit more grunt as that's what it seems to be lacking at this point. :P

Thanks for the feedback, guys.

Youre in with a good chance as Im just spectating. Now if you deposit another 20 cents into my account I might just marshall certain cars better than others :P
