if you didn't notice the windows that's a good thing :nice: i was really happy with the fit on the front and rear windows too - fitting them to the outside was a good decision. i also saw Jeff's interior was falling down - i only used electrical tape to hold it in place, which explains that.

I'm also building another one as we speak for Anthony, using a 1970 camaro chassis. it means i have to fit new body posts, but also means i've got a spare chaparral camaro body...

What is the wheelbase of the '70 Camaro compared to the early one?

I am learning of any shortcomming from you guys and will try and correct them in Future kits.

The XY was moulded 2 1/2 years ago,so I have learnt a bit since!

about the same Phil, the mounting points are about the only difference. given the need to change the front end to falconise a camaro it's six of one half a dozen of the other - assuming one is willing to remove the 'factory fitted' body posts and fit new ones.

Phil, just to let you know... I had a go at mounting the XY body to the Mustang chassis last night and the body posts on my mine didn't line up either.

I'm going about it with the styrene sheet method.

Happy to be getting somewhere though... this is really enjoyable!

So once I've sorted this one out it's on to the Charger and Monaro.

If I stuff up the XY (which is my first effort with scratchbuilding, so I won't be too hard on myself) I'll grab another as long as you're still casting them?

Cheers,

Dick

Thnaks for that Dick. I have no idea why the posts don't line up as the inner mould has not changed, but maybe the inner moves within the outer enough to cause the problem. In future I will add some locating lugs.

Have just been casting another batch trying to get some time to do some vac forming.

Syd are you reading this!!!!!!

Where are the pics Dick?

Not much to post mate... I'm in the throws of getting the body on the chassis (which is a test one at that... it has a broken motor mount which I will araldite, then glue in the motor etc....) see how that turns out. Intend to buy a few for these bodies anyway.

I haven't looked at body prep yet, what's the putty I need to smooth it off and fill in the small air bubble holes?

I didn't attempt the front axle holder swap, instead I filed out a groove and fitted some styrene tube. Works OK, will see in the end how well.

Cheers,

very slow, first timer.

PS. Phil, sorry I haven't sent you the other item, I've been crook this week, I'll get it organised over the weekend.
