kalbfellp
I know you guys got around the problem BUT the posts should have lined up so that you only needed to drill some holes in the resin posts. I know the early bodies did line up but I assume when the inner mould started to break up the post holes moved. I am in the process of recasting the inner mould so the problem will be fixed( I hope). KarKraft
Is it a down-under Trans-am ? Joel USA Joel - Yes and no It depends how people are using these bodies. There were two series - Improved Production and Series Production. Improved Production was very close to Trans Am. As an example, Bob Jane and Allan Moffat both raced genuine Kar Kraft Trans Am Mustangs in Improved Production with the main alteration being that they had to refit the production interiors. http://www.bowdensown.com.au/cars/gthosupa.html By contrast, Series Production were essentially showroom stock with some freedoms in tyres, brake pads, shock absorbers. I think 300 had to be made. There were lots of Ford go-faster bits from the parts bin such as 4V heads, but wet-sump lubrication and no four-bolt Boss blocks. http://www.bowdensown.com.au/cars/french64e.html Edited May 27, 2008 by KarKraft Quote Fairmont Park

That's a car you build and send off to be raced by others all over the state, country, world! No experience here... wouldn't do it to the racers!!! BEEJAY7
Hi Phil Just spent an enjoyable time re-reading this thread. Just to let you know I'm starting my Falcon and it will be fitted with a HRS2 chassis, probably with a Slot.it Boxer motor as I want to run it in a big Saloon race I've got coming up over here. It will be a little different to the normal, Cortina's, Escorts and Jag's that usually can be found racing. Regards Alan
kalbfellp
Gees about time! I would have thought you would have all the cars built now you have so much spare time! Do you know where all the time goes? I don't! Please post some pics as work progress's. BEEJAY7
Phil Finally finished the car...:- I'm not sure I've got the right decals on the car, every picture I looked seemed to for show the car with different numbers and letters, (not even sure what they are for.....is it a class description?), anyway I'm happy with it, and for sure no one over here is going to know if it is wrong.. . I lightened the shell and removed your carefully positioned mounting posts....and fitted one of the Penelope Pitlane Sidewinder brass chassis :- I fitted a Scaleauto 25K motor with all Slot.it running gear. Your inserts are fitted into Penelope Pitlane set screw wheels, Carrera stocker tyres are fitted to the fronts and Paul's s tocker tyres to the rear. I didn't have a clue what colour "Russett red" was so I sprayed the car with two coats of BL Targa red, followed by a finishing coat of Fiat orange red. I fitted the window glazing individually as I wanted to try for a "flush glazing" look. Decals are a mixture of mine and Patto's, (probably the worse I've had from Bruce, very dissapointing!). The car is pretty quick, and runs well with my American TransAms..... Many thanks for the superb shell, and great interior, (best I've come across). kalbfellp
Alan: Greet build, it has taken awhile. Will be interesting to see how it goes with that light chassis and 25,000 Slot It. The letter is a class designation for Bathurst based on the purchase price. You are right about Patto's decals, they seem to be getting worse! I contacted him when I first cast the body about the Bonnet stripes being too short and send him all the info and he was going to oix the problem, still hasn't. Stubbo is now doing some decals for the Aussie Muscle cars and his quality iand fit is very good.
