That 4wd system looks cool...

The guide on this chassis looks weird too...

In fairness it is more about where the wires are centred rather than the guide itself. We are used to seeing the eyelets in front of the guide centre and this just looks odd. I am no fan of 4wd especially with only one side with a band. It may have an advantage on really low grip tracks but it is for most of us just another complication that is unnecessary. I would rather they gave chassis that were straight and true; right from the box.

4x national champion 6x national runner up. I come second most often but my girlfriends happy.

I'm assuming that the combination of tensioning and teeth on the belt is n an attempt to avoid the dreaded belt slip.

Computers. They'll never catch on.

Yes Ember that's the idea, be interesting with the tensioner to see if it drags to the left if there is a problem with setting it up , would like to see one with a belt each side to really see if the 4wd idea really works as I found 4wd through the years was not as good as a conventional car and I drove a lot of them in various set ups , but I expect I will have to get one to see if it is faster than my standard one's, :) in this latest mode.

Slot-it news New Zealand.

With the Slotraceshop sadly shutting down for an extended overseas trip has anybody heard what is happening with new supplier. Have tried emailing Slot-it but have received no rely.

Would hate to see this premium brand disappear from NZ shelves.

Chas, - and any others interested.

Maurizio is still involved in that determination, but be assured he hasn't forgotten Kiwi-land.

The picture doesn't do justice to how good the tampo work looked on this reptile.

Albert Boet should have some better photos up on Slotcar Today shortly.

Due out this Friday.

Lola-Aston Martin B09/60, also known as the Aston Martin DBR1-2, is a Le Mans Prototype LMP1 sports car, designed and built by Lola Cars International, jointly developed with Prodrive for Aston Martin Racing, to enter the 24 Hours of Le Mans and the Le Mans Endurance Series Championship.

The front of the car was redesigned to bear an unmistakable Aston Martin grille shape. Car #22 raced the 24 Hours of Le Mans in 2011

Also due Friday - A Sauber C9 Group C. from Le Mans 1987 - This one is of special interest for Kiwis, as two of the drivers were Chip Ganassi who heads the Indycar team Scott Dixon drives for, and kiwi Mike Thackwell. To my knowledge Thackwell was the only kiwi who was a regular driver for a major Group C team - but I'd love to be proved wrong on that - Phil? Anyone?

oh that just looks too good not to own. I tried to buy one of the original Kouros Saubers as a collector a few years ago. May as well have asked for a flying pig to deliver me a sack full of hens teeth.

Message to my pusher here in Spain is next job on the agenda.

From Slot.it today

In order to make it easier for our end user customers, following many requests, we have decided to replace old codes with better ones for our popular wheels. The old product code, to make transition easier, will still be printed on the product packaging.

Here is how it works:

we have taken the three important dimensions (diameter, width, hub thickness), and used them to create the code.

For example, our wheel WH1110-Al is 17.3mm diameter, 8.2mm width, 1.5mm hub: it becomes W17308215A

W for wheel

diameter in mm 17.3 --> 173)

width in mm 8.2mm --082)

hub thickness in mm 1.5mm -- 15

A for aluminium

Another example:

old code PA17-Pl 15.8*8.2*2.5 mm)

new code W 158 082 25

W = wheel

158 = diameter

082 = width

25 = hub width

P = plastic

15241411_1300681969973367_5872581948551498158_n.jpg?oh=40d993d2d2267977a03ca6b6a9969dcd&oe=58C19FB1

Thus, starting from today the codes for the following will be replaced as explained above.

We believe that this change will make things easier for everyone - even if we understand that there will be some initial perplexity. To minimize this, the stickers on the bags will carry BOTH old and new codes.

Effective January 2017 all Slot.it wheels will be coded according to this rule

PHASE 1: effective immediately

For the following items BAR CODE WILL change, due to removal of wheel inserts.

List of replaced parts for your reference:

Old part Replacement part

(came w/insert) (insert removed)

PA17-Pl ----------------> W15808225P

PA24-Als -------------> W15808215A

PA43-Als --------------> W16508215A

PA43-Pl ----------------> W16508225P

PA33-Als --------------> W14308015APA20-Als --------------> W14411515A

PHASE 2: effective January 1st

BAR CODE WILL NOT change.

List of all substituted codes will be added later.

Thats great news.

It would be nice if they could do the same with tyres "OD-ID-Step Width-Tyre Width-Compound" would be useful. T20-16-5-10-F15.
