sub02sti
What oil are you using for lubrication on your cars...
DAVENIC
I just use a fine oil that I got from Bunnings. I think as long as it is a multi purpose type oil for use on say sewing machines it should be ok. Mine is just an all round type recommended for oiling motors, hinges, etc. The bottle I bought is red and white with a red applicator, about 10cm tall. It was about $3 on special at Bunnings. bump
G'day sub02sti, Not all oils are suitable for slot cars and some will soften or damage their plastic components. What you need to check is that any oil should say that its safe for plastics somewhere on the label. I use LaBelle oils, easy to find at any hobby shop that has model railways. I use Tamiya Ceramic Grease on the gears. Cheers Quote There are 10 types of people in the world. slotbaker
I've been using oil for pneumatic tools, and have not had any problems with plastics. I know it as light spindle oil, and have used it for many years. It seems to work, and it's all I ever use so can't give any comparisons. You can get from tool shops, and major hardware stores. Vinno
I use the Parma lube on the wheel bushes and front axle as the dispenser is very handy. I use a white bicycle grease by Finish Line on the crown gear. It seems plastic friendly as I have used it for years.
