Are You Coming To Ged's On The 25th Of November?

Recommended Posts

The 2007 VSC may go far. The pre-discussion thread has over 90 replies but I am thinking of creating seperate ones everytime a new round is on. Otherwise the main thread gets too cluttered.

Actually Freddy - thinking of that - perhaps a new thread with a precis of what's the go would be good?? I get a headache when I read it!

I was talking about the 2007 thread buddy - perhaps a 'the story so far' new thread would be cool and useful??

I have a new entry in the JGTC class, and a new V8 (if I can fix the bent chassis)

the GT40 will have to wait til we run Le Mans again

I've sorted the Murph car Gref! Got rid of the axle slop and glued the damned wing back on.. again!

Got some little gromits from Peter's to put around the axle. That was a bastard to do. Five bucks for a little pack and I've dropped most of the buggers on the floor - they're gone! ;)

Next - I play with my new JGTC car..

I ran mine in for bout 6 - 7 hours last night, goes hard! But my track is totally different to Ged's, so may be interesting ;) Just waiting to hear bout the front axle to see if it is normal or I have a problem ;)

Hey - how did you get the scaley JGTC car handling so nicely? The interior seems to take up all the available space except in the bit where the SSD thing clicks in.. so I chucked some weight in there! ;)

mine's a bit loose round thetrack at the moment, but I figure Ged's is fast with long sweeping corners, so delicate power application should prove to be a good thing (that sounds intelligent huh ;) )

Delicate Schmelicate! ;)

I tipped over a lot last time so I'm trying to get the things really low so it's slidey and hopefully more forgiving in the corners then I can wait until it gets straight and tromp it - not good enough at subtle application of power yet so I'm planning to point and squirt!! ;)

I think it's hilarious though - I've put a bit of thought into what was wrong and been reading up and fiddling about..

What's the thing that'd make me way way faster and let me win - no - not talent - obviously I have that.. oh I know.. practice!

Haven't lifted a finger - no girly-swots here!!! ;);)

Looking forward to this (again)

Have you noted the 800cc motoGP bikes are already nearly as quick as the litre bikes?? it's 'cause they can carry extra corner speed.. if you're going faster you don't need to accelerate as hard to get to light speed.. ;)

I'll be cruising - you'll be burning up your tyres buddy boy! ;)

Nathan?? No competition?? PAH!! he's already peaked - I'm improving by the second!

yes - given what he did to Murph last time I'd imagine it'd quake in its boots!!! ;)

I'm looking forward to seeing how the Ilmor motor goes in MotoGP next year. One of the arguments for moving to the 4 stroke was to get specialist engine manufacturers involved. He's the guy that originally developed the modern Mercedes F1 motors BTW.

I'm letting the cars run in a bit but the Scaley (takata) car seems much smoother than the Ninco - I Wonder if it's 'cause I have it on low voltage (3) for the moment so it's not running "on the cam" yet?? Given what I've done with the setups (very different) I wouldn't be suprised if the Scaley's quicker tomorrow.

Hey - here's my current design philosophy. Get the thing a bit slidey with a nice low centre of gravity then when it becomes almost undriveably slidey whack a set of MJKs or Ortmanns on it! ;) Fault that!

good in theory but I found the MJK's had too much grip and when I needed it to slide it gripped and tipped. I'm gonna try them again with different weight setup, if no good I'll just chuck stockys back on.

the scaley's might handle better (depending on setup), but the Ninco will eat them down the straight. I found last time mine could stay in touch for about a lap then the Ninco's got away ;) Not this time ;)
