Try and come as close to 2pm as you can so that we can get racing nice and quickly. We only have 2 and a half hours and we have to fit 4 events in. Freddy Posted October 28, 2006 Author Report Share Posted October 28, 2006 (edited) A fun day of racing was had. I had to leave at 4:30pm but the other boys were still racing. They're probably still there now. The drivers included myself, Dave, Shane, John, John K, Kurt, Paul and Matt. Most of the guys were from the forum. The first class we raced was 60's Le Mans. All 8 people took part so there were 8 heats. Each race was 1.5 minutes and it was crash and burn. Overall I came 6th. I tried to race with the leaders too much and only finished 1 or 2 of the races. I forgot who won and don't remember the positions and laps so the other members will have to fill you in on these details. The second class we raced was V8 Supercars. All 8 people took part so there were 8 heats. Each race was 1.5 minutes and it was crash and burn. Overall I came 5th. I learned from my mistakes with the Le Mans cars and focused more on staying on track. I still came off a few times though. Once again I don't remember the positions or laps the amount of members got. We were only going to race 2 classes but Ged suggested a 3rd. We raced Jap GT. Only 6 drivers took part so there were 6 heats. Each race was 1.5 minutes and it was crash and burn. I had a fantastic first race. I stayed in the whole way and came 3rd. I was out for the next heat but I was back in for heat 3. I didn't do as well this time and crashed off at around the halfway mark of the race. By then it was past 4:30pm and I had to go so I wasn't able to finish the remaining 3 heats. I reckon I would've gone really well though. I'll let the other members give you their thoughts and all the positions for the Jap GT class. Who knows? Maybe they even raced a 4th class. Shane and a couple of others guys took some photos so they will be posted later. All in all we had a great day and hopefully we can meet again soon. He had such a good time and was looking forward to organising dinner and the thought of you at home, his loving thoughts of you led him astray.....just briefly.
