Gyprock
g'day guys, my dingo timer just counts laps when it wants to, I've cleaned I've moved, nothing else I can think of, dingo timer wasn't worth the postage stamp let alone buy the f**king thing, So guys what is a good system, as of in actually works, what if I put in censors instead of a dead strip, narr I've just had enough of it. cheeers
slotmad
Hi Gyprock, Have you contacted the guy who writes teh program? Sometimes it can be as simple as a setting somewhere. I ran the trial version of Dingo Timer on my old Classic track with a dead strip and had no problems at all. Other than that, I now use Lap Timer 2000 http://www.gregorybraun.com/LapTimer.html It's free, and it works for me. slotdownunder
I have been running Dingo for 2-3 years and have not had a problem with it. I would look at your hardware setup before blaiming the software. Matt (the author) is currently living in England temporarly. Cheers Mal Quote keep it in the slot, the slotdownunder
sidecar steve
I think your deadstrip is probably suspect. I've checked the DingoTimer site and it looks quite complex, not something I'd wanna try building myself. I initially had problems with the led/sensors set either side of the slot which was partly the slot car guides being semi transparent and partly the cars lifting in the slot under acceleration. I switched to an overhead light gantry and it works faultlessly. I'm a big fan of the software so I'd recommend ditching the dead strip. Gyprock
Yeah steve I'am a bit suss on the dead strips my self, how do I go to a overhead gantry, I can build one myself but what sort of censors do I get, or are they all the same, and does it have to have any sensory thing in the track as well, And thanks for the help guys, because when I'am up and running I'am going to try and get a little bit of a club thing going, (Bundaberg) cheeers gene
