Here are the photo's taken from the last round of the Ninco Classic series.

This time we ran Open Racing which was any open wheeler using motors from the allowed manufacturers. Two minute heats for this support catagory.

Next was Open Sedans which also had two minute heats.

Last was Ninco classic with three minute heats.

Selection of Open Racing class cars. SCX Minardi, Scalextric IRL and Pro Slot Ferrari. Joe was streets ahead in his well sorted green SCX Minardi.

Open Sedans saw Dave with his highly modded mid engined Fly BMW win overall to Joe's Ninco chassied Scalextric Commodore. I picked up third in the Pirtek Falcon which is not shown here.

Pics of the last race of the night. Ferrari P3 was excluded from results for not meeting the regulations. Also the car did not fit into pre 1966 era.

In a couple of the photos, you can see next to the track a small sign with a number - the 15 in the second and the 45 in the 4th. As mentioned elsewhere, we race for a fixed time, say two minutes, then power the track off. Laps plus the distance are tallied, so those number indicate fractions of a lap, say.15 or .45 above. We only count to the nearest .05 on a lap so .05, .1, .15 etc to keep it manageable. Tie-breaking is according to fastest laps.

The smarties have worked out a way to coast after the power shuts off, sometimes gaining a 1/10th of a lap or more if they're on the main straight. One potential complication then is if a car deslots in the technical section or near the bridge i.e. the power is about to go off so you floor it to make the next track mark and hurtle across the track. In practice, this has never been an issue for us because the racing is very tough but also very fair, so a driver nominates where he left the track and that's where we record his distance.
