Looking At building a new wood track, been 11 years since the last one. Toying with ideas and limited space (approx 2 x 4 m), looks average on paper but ideally would be hybrid analogue/digital but not 100%. I had working pit lanes on both my previous wood tracks and still have my fly pit wall etc. on paper pit lane would be the lowest point and slowly rise and drop back down under bridge back to pit lane. Went to Bunnings yesterday but that had little timber and no mdf so hopefully that changes soon

Looking good

I have the itch to start again and build another track.

I want something I can run all the 1/24 cars I have collected since I built my last track. :)

I am thinking of making something modular but if I don't go modular I will be making at least one modular piece.

I found this on oldslotracer site and think it is a great idea, when doing a solo run you can race each lane on the track...

My Mate Col has one on his Suzuka track, in digital its a compulsory crossover and works well

I was thinking of doing something like this on mine with a bigger arc so there are less or smaller dead spots

Nice idea

I built a 3 lane track for my first track, current track is two lane, with both tracks I mostly only drove on one lane.

For my next track I am in two minds, either do some work to clear some space and build a decent 4 lane track, or leave room as it is and build a single lane test track.

I've managed to put the last piece in place so I could draw the remainder. It will likely change as I route due to elevations/banks etc. Thinking about a compulsory crossover corner (for digital) and I drew it out to see how it would look, not sold 100% as I would likely make another modular section with standard corners to interchange

@grefEnjoying the progress. What are you using for the router guide? I couldn't make it out.

the routing strip? I made my own version of what Luf used to sell. After a few emails and replies saying they couldn't cut the width I wanted I found a place the cut me a piece of polycarbonate 6mm x 10mm x 2400mm and drilled holes in it

6mm wide, 10mm thick I assume?

No 6mm thick 10mm wide , the sheets come in 6 and a thinner version as well I think. When we head down to vic in a few weeks I’m gonna get a few more spares cut

Getting close to paint now, just gotta route the braid recess and crossovers for lane changers. First pics are the optional section, crossovers for single lane or digital, obviously not as nice as a drawing

thanks, that's what I'm trying to achieve, a "drivers track", you can't pass when you want as the lane spacings are uneven, will have to pick your place to pass etc
