Sports Racer
Racing will be on Wednesday night. We were supposed to be racing yesterday (Sunday) but a couple of the guys weren't feeling well. Andrew ran each car for a couple of laps to get a feel and see if any had any issues. All the cars ran well and Andrew commented that they were all better than last year's cars. He did say give him 30 min and he could get some of the middle runners on the the winners podium. 1 Quote May the downforce be with you.

sticks
Hi Guys We haven't seen any videos or numbers for a while, so I thought I would do some numbers based on the data we have. So about the only thing I came up with is an efficiency percentage, based on laps you have done in the race and a theoretical lap score (TLS) based on the your fastest lap time e.g for 32coupe laps 60.43 fastest lap 5.623 So from that we can find a theoretical lap score (TLS), The time of the race 360 sec is divided by fastest lap 360/5.623 = 64.02 so then you can divide the actual laps by the TLS in this case 60.43 / 64.02 = .944 or 94.4% so here's the list Name Laps fastest lap TLS Efficiency percentage 32coupe 60.44 5.623 64.02 94.4% Sports Racer 59.88 5.666 63.54 94.24% Alvaro 59.84 5.682 63.36 94.44% Brooksy 57.97 6.014 59.86 96.84% Nev 56.57 5.851 61.53 91.16% DP201 56.09 5.983 60.17 93.22% old man 55.85 5.964 60.48 91.22% Lancelot 55.35 6.004 59.96 92.18% jimmyslots 55.27 5.964 60.36 91.56% Peter Gunn 54.47 5.903 60.99 89.32% bov 54.02 5.895 61.07 88.46% ArroldN 53.82 6.233 57.76 93.18% Dixie 53.60 6.143 58.60 94.46% Supercharged 53.54 5.973 60.27 88.75% sticks 53.20 6.078 59.23 89.82% Aloha 52.35 6.200 58.06 90.16% JohnnieE 51.54 6.109 58.93 87.46% Nonfractal 51.27 6.390 56.74 91.00% Shaynus 51.06 6.347 56.79 90.00% ALS 50.84 6.485 55.52 91.58% Pespsi62 50.70 6.454 55.78 90.89% curef99 50.10 6.652 54.11 92.57% BARacer 49.11 6.318 56.98 86.19% BrumosRSR 48.02 6.322 56.94 84.64% I hope is helpful Edited November 13, 2021 by sticks
Peter Gunn
Seems like your bored sticks of the whole scene chuckle , this series is over and dusted the leading 3 cars have no competition, out on their own, and i do wonder why they are so far out in front. The real racing looks to be in the middle , through no fault of Paul's well not on this one a proxy needs to have regular updates and info , found before Covid interest was waining in proxy racing generally , you could see by the entries , then the costs of sending cars , from here is just about finishing my interest, and that's without all the problems when the cars got there. Think our 3 cars left here pretty early in the year, and everything is Covid affected , i did want to withdraw our 3 cars when the mag issue arrived , but Paul sort of talked me out of it , wished i had now , only left them there as it was John's and Dixies first time , well it has turned into the one and only time . Sports Racer
Sorry guys, I've been busy with a few things in real life. Now that the covid restrictions have eased I was finally able to drive down with my boys to spend some time with my wife who's working in Melbourne 800 ks away. We haven't seen her in 2 months and she's much more important than racing toy cars. Our cars are quick because we're racing on our home ground. We have tested our cars on these tracks but they still aren't as quick as Radarek's cars which dominated this proxy for the first 2 years, and he's never seen our tracks. If someone wants to run a similar proxy on their local tracks I'll be the first to build a car and send it and because it's only a toy car I won't care about who builds a better car that suits their local tracks. That's what proxy racing is all about, you build a car as best as you can and compare it against other builders. And you learn a little bit more each year. There will always be cars faster and some that are slower but they are still only toy cars. If anyone wants to withdraw let me know and I'll get their car in the post. Next round will be next weekend. Cheers Paul Quote May the downforce be with you.
Sports Racer
Sticks, I love the efficiency percentage. It shows which cars are easy to drive fast. Something that isn't easy to quantify but definitely relates to proxy cars. Will be interesting to see if these numbers change much as the proxy continues. Quote May the downforce be with you. jimmyslots 1950
Well said Paul,I think some people are in Proxy racing for different reasons to me.I personally love building slot cars & it's a bonus if a group of guys want to go to the trouble of racing them on 10 different tracks ,doing video's & reporting on how each car goes just shows their passion for the hobby. My cars are very different to the competition & is a challenge to compete with them, some of my best slot races have been sitting in front of my computer watching a stranger drive one of my cars & if they give my car a compliment then I'm a winner. Keep up the good work Paul, really appreciate all the time & effort you put in to this Proxy. PS I'm a bit worried about Sticksy,I think the air might be a bit thin up on his mountain retreatDo offs get factored in to the Einstein equation Cheers Jimmy Quote To finsh first, first you gotta finish
old man
I agree with jimmyslots. This is my first proxy and I'm loving it. Seeing my car finish a race is a bonus, not to mention being so far up in the field (at the moment). Appreciate all the work involved. Keep it up. Thanks Oldman
lancelot
Thanks Paul, It's great to hear you can finally visit your family since Australia has eased COVID restrictions. I m not sure what or why Mr Gunn is having some issues? Maybe it is UK humor? Need to loosen your drawers? home track has big advantages, car tuned on these tracks are going to be at the top. It is expected. They tune all types of cars and run on these tracks consistantly, so their car and tuning is going to be better than someone that has never seen or driven the track. That is proxy racing. This proxy is far from being over (only round 2 completed, 8 more to go), Australia seems to have the tightest Covid restrictions, so that is why the proxy and reporting seems slow (I am sure that is OK with all of us). The proxy seemed to have a slow start, but Paul was waiting for all the cars to arrive. I sent my car to australia 2-3 weeks before shipping deadline, it took 62 days to arrive. This proxy is the only one that has had regular reporting (before covid), and race videos on almost every track. This year race 2 has had a commentary of the cars, sometimes helpful on each car. Not many proxies have a body off reveal at the end of the series, Paul did it last year and i am sure he will do it again. Looking at race 2 results, Mr Gunn is at the top of all the UK entries and above most of the other entries from around the world, (so quit complaining). If you wish to withdraw you car, you can, but it already there and lets see what shakes out. (I don't know you but now I hope you don't withdraw so i can watch and see my car beat yours). Peter Gunn
Lance ii could not care a toss if your car beats mine it is already doing it, it ain't gonna beat the top 3 who as i have said have the series sown up, as far as your other comments are concernd again i don't care a toss.
