2020 Touring Car Proxy Round 7 - Alistair's track

We're into the 2nd half of the proxy with Round 7 being held next Tuesday - 20 October 2020.

This is another track built by Andrew so I don't know if I'll have to penalise his car for violating obscure rule 115:7:23-B which states no points for winning with a track/car combination built by the same person.

If he beats me again I’m sitting him with the kids at Christmas lunch.

Cheers

So far from the 6 tracks we have run on, only 2 were ferradore, this is another one I built and it uses semi gloss.

And for interest sakes, I have had a hand in building 3 of the 6, and now this one as well.

Andrew,

What are the dimensions of Alistair's track?

Looking at something similar in a 5' x 15.5' footprint - 3 lane, copper taped, semi-gloss one day....

More importantly, was Alistair's track kind to Peugeots ?

Cheers,

Tony.

There's only two questions:

1. What direction do you go

2. What's the Lap Record?

Keep up with the times, I don't understand this 5 x 15.5, that track is 1800 x 4800. ;)

ALS, your car is back on track. Gear mesh fixed and it's now running MJK's - 5 point penalty for the tyre change.

Pepsi, I've fixed the no power issue. The wire came out of the guide so no penalty.

Shaynus, I've rebuilt your front end. Your 3D printed chassis is starting to delaminate in a couple of places so I've glued in bushes to hold in the front axle and strengthen the uprights holding the axle. Your guide was a pain to sort out. Everytime I fixed one bit of the guide mount it broke further back so it now it is reinforced all the way back to the main chassis. -10 points penalty but it should now run a bit better.

All the cars are ok to run tomorrow night.

Cheers

Paul

Good to see a newcomer to the podium and unless I'm mistaken the top 4 spots are taken by Aussie cars. :D

After race review

What I didn't film was just how much fun we had racing the cars. So many laughs and ribbing between the guys whenever one of their cars came up to race and in the comments above.

Next round will be this Saturday - 24 October 2020 - at Peter's track.

May the downforce be with you.

Congratulations to the podium finishers. Um not a good day for my Taxi. 10 cars within 2 laps of each other 73-71. That is close racing. But 5-7 laps off the pace of the top dogs.:o Thanks for the comments guys. I would say I'm hanging in there for a totally stock Taxi.

Thanks for the run Paul & helpers, good to see the Captain have a good result with the little bit of help he had i'm sure he will return next year much wiser with his build.

Love the track & there wasn't much time for the drivers to have a rest with a good combination of corners sorting out the better handling cars,

Congrats to the podium & again well done Sticks.:D

Cheers Jimmy:D

Thanks for the run gents and congrats to those on the pointy end.  It seems my car just keeps slipping farther down the order, oh well...Thanks so much for keeping this proxy rolling along, great stuff.
