No worries. Send me all your NSR's, Revo's, Slot.it's and anything else worth big $.

I'll get to them eventually and send them back.

Honest.

May the downforce be with you.

Even though it's good to see my brother's car in 1st place there's currently a protest logged with the stewards.

CheersPaul

Have the protesters paid the mandatory $50 lodgement fees?

If they have, I have a little something in a plain paper envelope for the stewards  ;);)

Thank you Gentlemen for running the round.  Sports Racer job well done on all fronts from your car teams tracks and hosting.    32coupe, congratulations on your win and I'm happy to be in the race within the race.   Thanks for the kind words on the Clio which I'm sure can be a handful at times

Thankyou Dave very much for your time and efforts to host this leg of our Proxy. I will send 3 set of tyres next year. Maybe try some Yellow Dogs

Interesting always thought the idea of a proxy was to set your car up for a whole series, including tyres , not send extra sets of tyres because you can't set a car up properly , just a obversation on what's being said.

If the car wasn't at the bottom of the field I wouldn't change the tyres.

A few years ago I sent a car to the Group 5 proxy and just before posting I superglued the NSR tyres on. The car was one of the slowest entered and when I got it back I found the tyres were rock hard. The superglue had seeped into the rubber tyres making them useless. All those months of setting the car up were wasted and I had no idea how well I could build a car to compete against other entrants.

I look at proxies as a way to test your building skills against other entrants. If your car has a tyre issue causing it to run at the rear of the field then how do you know how good you are?

That's wrong if you change tyres for one should do it for all, many don't learn at all but rely on others , and it,s not testing your building skills many use plastic chassis , so that comes down to your tuning skills , none of us have much of a chance building cars to compete down under as we don't  have home advantage that quite a few have, so no idea as to what's needed on the tracks down there. .

I only run on plastic have no wood tracks anywhere near me and no clubs to practise at, so i have to learn from my experiances of proxies, and just hope i,m good enough to put a car up to run a whole series, don't expect any crowing rights over others , just gives me something to do that connects me still to slot car racing, but i read the rules.

As i said just observing what others are saying, and lets face it if your tyres are shot half way through a series you ain't learned much.

Peter Gunn, there are at least 4 builders here using plastic tracks and have the same exact disadvantages as you,  me included.  I also recognize many are at different stages of experience of proxy racing toy cars,  from knowledge, tuning and an access to tuning tools.  If you recall, last year my non shaved Paul Gage tires exploded racing this proxy and I suggested the car get parked as that's what I'm familiar with.  I had no idea what a difference these tracks are compared to North American wood tracks and I'm learning.   I will NEVER run a tire manufactured by Super Tires for personal reasons, so I'm still experimenting when it comes to this series as I believe others are too.   Also I believe ALS was kidding about the 3 sets of tires.   I enter this proxy for similar reasons, but mostly because it's a fun break from the pressures of other proxies I compete in.   Also Sports Racer makes them fun,  it's weekly which keeps the interest and it helps keep our hobby alive.

Peter I think you have done a great build, and I predict that you will finish the proxy on the podium.

All Paul is doing is to give the unfortunate punters a better experience in a proxy, in that they still get a chance to compete.

Yes, I know this is not how other proxies are run, but this is Paul's proxy and he is running it the way he thinks is should be.

I think what he is doing is good for the proxy and it gives everyone the hope that their car will finish in a good working order and not in the bottom of a box full of dead cars.

Cheers

Andrew

I agree with 32coupe and Paul. In All proxies, if a racer has an problem with their car, the host or organizers try hard to get it fixed so the proxy can continue with all cars. No problem, not tuning the car to make it faster. The idea to keep as many cars racing in the proxy as possible, as it would be hard to send the car home from Australia to the USA or UK with the postal fee s and especially time since this proxy is running a race every week.

Some, if not most of these tracks are rough because of a ferrodore paint. this surface is different for us in the US and probably the UK.

Looking thru what Paul has done for this proxy, hosting, scheduling, organizing, reporting, videos, and repairs, this has been a great proxy.

I am sure when ALS stated he will send 3 sets of tires, he was joking.

Looking at Peter G placings (top5 in first 5 races) should not be worried.

Hi everyone

Don't give PG a hard time. We have the same discussion every proxy and he is entitled to his opinions.

I don't run this proxy anywhere as tough as other proxy organisers do. I'm here for the fun and will continue to help those cars that aren't doing well.

I'll do the same thing next year, guarantee it.

What will be different this year is I'll take the body off the top 10 cars and do a review of each car so everyone can see what makes them so good. It's a great way to learn how to make a better car.

Cheers

Paul

I am not worried Lance i try to put a good car out in what ever proxy i do , my comment was about the rules if you have rules you build a car to them, if the rules are flexible state that , Paul wants to run a fun proxy well most are anyway that's why we do it , been a lot of chatter on here about cars and what's wrong with them , so was stating my observation, which i presume is still allowed even in Covid times.

Paul and myself have been racing in proxies a few years and enjoy a bit of rivalry , expecially when we ran the same type of cars last time that's why i have entered this proxy, and now trying to work out how to beat him if i do this again, this is what proxy racing is all about , improving on what your currently doing , just one thing i would not mind changing for next time is upping the motor limit to 25 K.

PG, I'm definitely on board with all of the items above.   Not too sure on 25k motors though. I would need to run a brick tyre to make it through twelve races

Thanks for the run gents. I think I would have been better off sending a different car at this point.  The black bunny is just not getting the job done, although looked decent enough in the video provided. It must have had trouble in the other lanes?

Rico

Your car still likes to hop a little bit out of corners so we have to drive it carefully. Not as bad as the first round but it's still there.

i love the series and with more french car that cannot race in any other local race competitively, it is a great concept... i think we should go on with it and with the penalties. At the end of the day, i have the wooden spoon but as long as the car is nice to drive, i know that you will have fun in Canberra.
