DP2O1 0 Report post Posted December 4, 2020 The midfield is very close - 7 points over 4th to 8th. That's the action for the last round. Top three are pretty settled, even with Coupe32s count back ;)
Peter Gunn 89 Report post Posted December 4, 2020 Agree with DP201 interesting last round with the midfield group , basically the top 3 places on the victory podium were decided some time ago those 3 cars are just in a differant class , have no idea how they get that sort of speed out of those cars but very impressed. Be good if someone can take the time to give a final sum up on the cars over the series so us lesser mortals who live worlds away can gain some info from those who run our cars on the tracks down under, looking at my car in the vids seems i,m pretty comsistant on the vids but results are all over the place, would like to know before committing to doing a car for any future series, stay safe. Sports Racer 28 Report post Posted December 7, 2020 I'll do a strip down video review on the top 5 cars. For my entry I started with the fastest car I have (Scaleauto Toyota GT1) and put a Calibra body on it. I tuned it with a 25k motor until I got it to handle well then put in a legal 23k motor so it felt slow but amazing to drive with the slower motor. 1 week before the proxy deadline I got my Sideways Group 5 Mustang to lap faster and put a renault Clio body on it. Very, very fast but a handful to drive. What has become strange is it drives just like ALS's and Brumos's Renaults - fast but hard to maintain constant quick laps. Maybe it's something to do with the short body with no rear overhang and therefore very little weight behind the motor. Andrew's car is pretty much the same as what he entered last year with very little work done to prep it for this year. Maybe the tyre wear lowered it so it's hit its sweet spot as evident by it getting better each race. I have no doubt it will win the final round at Steves this Wednesday. Aloha just builds great cars. Quote May the downforce be with you.
Brumos RSR 8 Report post Posted December 7, 2020 I’m committed to the Clio for this series next year so I will work on making it more drivable. I’m just glad the tires lasted a season. Unlike last year as a rookie to the series. Good luck to the builders, good luck to you all in final round.
ArroldN 1 Report post Posted December 8, 2020 (edited) Man what a bummer. Dropped from 5th to 8th. Hope I can get back into the top five in the last round. This is a lot of ground to have to gain back. Looking forward to a video of the top five cars. My car is basically stock. Only change is Yellow Dogs on the front and rear. So I really can't complain to much. Considering a lower profile body for next year. bov 12 Report post Posted December 11, 2020 Congrats to the brothers for being the class of the field - well done to Dale and 'the other Tony' for being the best of the interlopers... Looking forward to getting the winner of the Peugeot class back - hopefully with the rear wing....... Well done to all involved for putting on the series! Quote Cheers, Tony. Brumos RSR 8 Report post Posted December 11, 2020 Congratulations Sports Racer on your Touring Car Championship and 32Coupe and Aloha on your podium finishes. To the other builders who are happy with their results congratulations and for those who are not I wish you the best next series. Finally, I didnt expect the stars to line up perfectly in the last race of the series. Given I have no way of ever testing on these tracks, I’m happy with the current result but I will need to work on the car becoming more consistent going forward as I expect the competition to continue to improve. Round 8,11, and 12 really took a toll on my standings. I was in 5th until those last 2 rounds. I was hoping for a top 5 finish in round 12 to bring my overall position up. Oh well. Can't weight to see the inside of the top 5. Edited December 11, 2020 by ArroldN Quote MOPAR or NOCAR YES IT'S A HEMI
