No. They’re not. Munter’s arches are too pretty to use here. They’re Amato.

What's lurking? ….. popsicle sticks, 2 motors, independently rotating wheels on all 4 corners ….. end of June? or a SCX chassis

Since I don't have a stock of cars to choose from ours will be from scratch for sure. Long weekend project.

I feel a bit like I'm bringing a knife to a gun fight but here we are with a first shot of primer.

Been quietly following this as I don't (didn't) really have time to put into it with trying my hand at resin casting.

Then low and behold, enter a zombie apocalypse failure.

IMG_20200527_160608_8.jpgIMG_20200527_160555_9.jpg

Was thinking rusted body with a dremel saw blade through the roof section which is strangely straight, and a body hanging through the windscreen.

If I get to it that is.

Cheers Bram. I’ll rub it down again and respray. That first shot was to spot the mistakes.

After seeing Mac's build it gave me some inspiration to start a fugly car.

Not trying to steal your thunder either Mac, just had this  laying around.

A dodgy cast ZB resin body, some wheel arches and one of those $7 Avant Slot chassis from a few years back which will fit the wheelbase of the ZB.

Thought I'd use some SCX Raid tyres as well, maybe even give it a  a 2" lift kit as well.

Here's the body with the wheel arches fitted.

The Avant chassis, which will have longer axles fitted and the front stub axles removed.

And the car just sitting on the chassis for now until the mechanics fit the lift kit.

Now it is a Commodore, and I'm a Ford man so does this count as Fugly?.

Will have to add some ugliness to it somehow, any ideas?.

Cheers

Matt

I was thinking this but looking at what is being built maybe not.

I think it is FuglyCool though.

Made my own, when you start playing with resin you need to have small pieces to use the excess. Try and keep the waste to a minimum.

It is box stock, it comes with those arches on it.

Yeah sorry, was meant to be a tongue in cheek comment.

Almost all entrants have some form of wheel arch, as if that makes a vehicle ugly.

You’ve got a bit of a wheel arch fetish there.

It may well be a Commodore but it's not really a Holden. I think it was pretty ugly already ….. you just improved it ….. you made it cool
