Terry, just in case you want to purchase a second one as spare....

I used the grub screws from the Slot-It wheels for my home made wheels.... I found that the thread for these is an "M2" fine thread.... 2.0 mm.

I don't believe (might be wrong) that M2 comes in any variation in thread.. I think they are all this one fine thread..... unlike other thread codes....

Metric, as I have read thus far - come in fine or coarse.... I am not aware of an M2 in coarse.

I use a pin vice for tapping these small threads... the tapping drill I used was 1.6 mm.... after first using a 1.0 mm drill - then reaming out that hole with the 1.6.

I took small bites with the tapping tool... 1 turn in... then back out... repeated many times. I have found this to be a good way of getting a very clean thread.....

I also use a cutting fluid called "Tefolex"... a tub of that stuff will see your grand-kids out... but don't use it in a powered drill... it can give off very nasty fumes if it gets hot....

Hope this helped...

frats,

Rosco

Hi Terry.

Probably too late now but I think SlotsNZ/Mark Burgess has M2 taps or he used to.

M2 x 0.4 is what I used to do the very same job yesterday.

It's classed as a coarse thread in my Zeus book.

...and I used a drop of 3in1 oil for tapping the 1.6mm hole.
