As some of you may be aware 12 months ago I purchased a 2 lane two piece track from Mr Trax in Melbourne. At the time a courier charged $250 to ship the 2 piece 3.35 metre by 1.2 metre track from Victoria to my home on the NSW Mid North Coast.

I now want to use an extension piece which is only one piece 1.23 metres by 1.2 metres so I contacted Peter at Mr Trax . Peter advised that their courier has increased his cost from $250 for 2 pieces to $280 for one piece. In fairness Peter is looking at other options as I am sure this price increase will impact on his future sales interstate

Does anyone know of other options. Perhaps a contact for a courier company where i can arrange my own pickup and delivery.

Thanks

Charlie

Hi Charlie.
In my hard working days I used furniture revivalists to transport trade night displays around Australia including Tassy. They were very reasonable.
Try Williamsons Bros Kempsey Phone: (02) 6562 5111 and or Coffs Harbour Removals (was owned by a mates brother) but may have sold out. Bought my 3 lane track down to Castle Hill in '83.

Hope that helps - not as quick as couriers though but usually within a week. Worth a try.

Hi Charlie, here are some that I googled, at least a starting point to get some quotes. Might be helpful if Peter can give weights and dimensions, you also need to advise the courier that the board can not sit flat, nothing stacked on top and must sit on its edge board.

Oh go on Charlie . . . . road trip, road trip.

You can break up the journey with a night stopover in the thriving metropolis of Gundagai. - There's even an active slot car groups somewhere very near to there....
