Round 6 is under way folks - SS1, Pinewood, saw the arrival of guest driver Andi Burt, all the way from the Isle of Man club!

The cars were in fine fettle as we rattled them through shakedown , though Johnny Nobbers has a wobbly rear and Splitrims braids have seen better days. Also T102 sounds to have thrown a weight.

and the pics are over here on Faceache

Thanks for the kind words Martyn

I've driven Pinewoods a number of times over the last 10 years, although never with the Lancashire. For those of you who think the trees look familiar, you're right, it's a de-constructed Christmas Tree.

It's smooth , fast with a few sharp turns and " do-nuts". It's possible to get a good flow despite the turns , but you need to beware....... one of the straights has a kink!

Look forward to seeing the results

Simon

Check my previous post, number 5 , I think the track takes up the area of a normal house door, approx 2'6" 6'6"
I'm not sure if Martyn had it last year, but it might have been used in the past when it was the SCX wrp.

Yes, it's been used every year I've hosted a round.
There is a video f al the cars in action on it one year when I had I in the dining room. How Ma Snurfen enjoyed that!

Lets try again!

The actual track has been used each year I have run a round. It is about 9' by 3'6".

I'll put some SS2 photos up soon, if I can keep the browser connected to the site long enough!

One car threw a braid and another the gear, so I will PM both drivers to explain what happened.
The track drove well when I threw my test cars around (a few of my old SlotRally GB cars). I always do this when I assemble a track, to ensure alignment of the joins, continuity of the joints (and this particular track is crossover central!) and to clean the track ready for racing.

As this is a bit of a demanding track, I give each car five or so laps before the event to make sure no guides stick in the slot and how they perform over the start-line/watersplash section – lots of gradient changes and some bumps in there. Time to clean the tyres and braids, and off we go!

There you go lads, zapped the cacky watermarked photos.

Hey Splitrim - join the what!!! club....

I'm sure there's an interesting story behind our somewhat sad placings.....
Cheers,

Tony.

There's only two questions:

1. What direction do you go
2. What's the Lap Record?

Perhaps it was nearly of , or nearly on Gary and knowing snurfen's humour he wasn't sure either, interesting to see his comments at the end of the round , like who had gear trouble and loosing braid e.t.c.

Maybe your right Mr Gunn. Maybe the car didn't know whether to tip or not to tip. That would be the question  :D . And just on a side note Snurfy. You've got me down as driving an Audi :o instead of the Metro. I know it goes like an Audi but we better make it right. You would also confuse my Navvy as his heads always in a playboy book :P . Just hoping the times are right as I'm happy where the car is rather than where the other Metro's are. Thanks for everything mate , You doing ok.
Cheers Craig
