The Hillclimb track is bigger than the Rally track being built on a 1200 x 3600 base with a rise and fall of 700mm.

Today I manged to get Stage one (Anti Clock wise) completed.

Some more interesting results for this Stage.

Most of the Metros struggled over the top of the track, having to brake for the kink half way along the hill.

Looking forward to Stage 2

Thanks for the update, Phil ! I trust #3's pacenotes are up to snuff - I get dizzy trying to follow that photo.....

Ah, my 1:1 co-driving days seem so long ago....... probably because 30 odd years really is.....

Cheers,

Tony.

There's only two questions:

1. What direction do you go

2. What's the Lap Record?

Ha ha, Bov!

I know exactly what you mean it was the late 80's for me too.

Although I did win a quite few "Scatter" rallies in the mid '90s until the proliferation of mobile phones spoilt the fun.

Mid table for me again! Let's hope I have a run of luck in the opposite direction. .....

  • 2 weeks later...

Finally managed to get time to run Stage two of the Hillclimb Stage.

Surprizing what a change of Direction makes to some cars.

I think this was that a coule of cars did not like the tight down hill turns with reverse camber.

I have a few notes on the cars but when I read thru them I thought I was being nit picking when the field is of such a great standard this year.

Johnny Nobbers car was the only car that really had any problems.

Thanks to all you guys for letting me play with them.

Well done Phil on another great round. Congrats to Gazza for the stage win and overall 1st to date. Good to see the racing so close. Only 13 points between the first 6 places. Congrats also for another good round Peter. Good to see I managed to split that Aussie trio up overall but closely followed by Phil and Bov. Thanks also for the great photos. Will look forward to comments when you can manage.

Thanks Phil for the round - congratulations to the podiumites!

Also thanks to Mel for the updated pointscores, agree with Charles about the closeness of the scores so far- let's see what the Northern hemisphere brings ( I think it's the first time I've had a proxy carin Scotland)

Cheers,

Tony.

Well done Chas, great to see a Metro on the podium.

It seems that over time the Metros and Lancias are becoming as good as the RS 200s

Looking forward to my Lancias dominance on the plastic Euro-tracks ...........

Surely I'm joint 7th Mel.........ha ha

Yes you should be 7th as well.

Just goes to show I'm not perfect in building a perfect auto spreadsheet

But good to see people take notice

I have held the opinion for many a year slot cars only get better as they are used/raced , but you hit that sweet spot with all of them and it never quite seems to come again when you get there, my RS is a prime example same car as last year but just run in now it seems , and it carries my 111 this year, which ad's something to it's performance chuckle.
