r377
Looking for some advise please on Painting aluminium wheels - rims. Mainly the NSR and slot.it air rims. Have used cheap as chips cans. I did 2 coats of primer, 2 coats of colour and 2 coats of clear. Paint still flakes off very easily thanks
Aquakiwi1952
I think you need an etch primer for the paint to adhere properly. Edited June 22, 2019 by Aquakiwi1952

Ontheflipside
Quite often aluminum has a thin layer of milling oil on it so wipe the wheels first with lacquer thinners, shellite or acetone. use a white rag,you will see if any oil was on the aluminum.(some experience from my old paint days). On large heavy wear commercial areas we just used sugar soap. - my two bobs worth. 1 Quote I can't believe that I wanted to grow up Mount Salt Panorama Track Combined Road and Rally Track built near Salt Pan Creek Padstow - Sydney A quick build rally track 2017 WRP Round 11 at Mt Salt Panorama https://i128.photobu...zpss7sqiwfj.jpg
