Ht Holden Monaro

Recommended Posts

well I have managed to get some spare time to do some slot car building

so I decided that the Munter resin HT Holden has stared me in the face for long enough

I had a mostly set up Pioneer Mustang/Camaro chassis from a previous build sitting on the shelf

it's wheel base was about 1.5-2mm to short so out came the saw

used the usual stretch and rejoin method and filled the gap with JB weld and sanded smooth

that was the easy part

with the body sitting in place but still needing body posts fitted

I will be flaring the wheel arches out a little like Norm Beechry's Monaro

anyway the set up is

Pioneer chassis

ball race bearings front and rear

slot it axles

slot it spur gear with scaly pinion

scaly 18k motor

ninco pro-race guide

slot it alloy 15x8 rear wheels

slot it plastic 15x8 front wheels

wheel inserts will be minilite's

How did you flare the guards out, Crockett?

just the usual putty trick

the flares are not very large, they are just so I can get a bit more wheel track width and I like the look that they give

the rear track is 60mm and the front is 58mm
