Drifter
Has anyone tried this? If so how did it go? I tried some today and found it works good as long as you kinda bunch it up to make it wider. Tested on a braided timber track for only about 2 hours. munter
Only as a last resort in my opinion.....it is a poor cousin to what some of the name brands offer. Quote John Warren Slotcars are my preferred reality
Drifter
Yes it certainly is more economical. I guess for me I'm looking for longevity and reliability rather than say a sprint / race scenario. We've got another 6 hr session today, so I'll see how it goes compared to the known slot car types of braid. Quote www.sydneyslotcars.com
kalbfellp
IMO It is too soft and flattens down too quickly. It has very little spring, one guy down her uses it and is often having problems during race nights. Drifter
Thanks for your input guys, I appreciate it may not be suitable for everyone's needs. We've just finished the 6 hr session and I'm happy to continue using the solder wick for braid. I did not have to touch the test car braids in the whole 6hrs. The wick I was given is 2.0mm however I'll order some 3.5mm and try that as well. Quote www.sydneyslotcars.com
Sports Racer
2mm wide or 2mm thick? I've got some 5mm wide and it's too stiff to use. I use Slot.it braid - $12 for a metre. If your braid is wearing out too quickly try setting the guide higher to take the weight off it. Normal braids should last a 6 hour enduro. Quote May the downforce be with you.
