Solder Wick As Car Braids

Drifter

Yes it certainly is more economical. I guess for me I'm looking for longevity and reliability rather than say a sprint / race scenario.

We've got another 6 hr session today, so I'll see how it goes compared to the known slot car types of braid.

Thanks for your input guys,

I appreciate it may not be suitable for everyone's needs.

We've just finished the 6 hr session and I'm happy to continue using the solder wick for braid. I did not have to touch the test car braids in the whole 6hrs. The wick I was given is 2.0mm however I'll order some 3.5mm and try that as well.

2mm wide or 2mm thick?

I've got some 5mm wide and it's too stiff to use. I use Slot.it braid - $12 for a metre.

If your braid is wearing out too quickly try setting the guide higher to take the weight off it. Normal braids should last a 6 hour enduro.

May the downforce be with you.
