Brown Blob

A silly question from a newbie. Wht is the brown blob with a wire to each side of the motor leads for, and can it be removed. Whay does it do, and why have it. Thanks

Quick search, it's a suppression capacitor/ filter.

You don't really need them on the car, supposed to stop interference with TV's etc.

Apparently they're needed if you run digital though.

Hello and welcome, Denis.

There are brown blobs and there are brown blobs....think you are talking Scalextric?
I usually cut them off, or if I am putting new lead wires on, I unsolder the connections and remove said blob.
