snurfen
It took a while to respond to this topic, but bugger me it takes ages getting all these layers of coats, jackets and mittens off to be able to type! Look forward to the rules coming out (if they havent already), I reckon my little RS200 could do a place or two better if I send it to Aus in time this year! I love the look of that S1, it's such a shame that none of the Audi's liked my Deadman's stage in 2018. If you do host a round in Farnham, please promise me you are not going to use that bloody Ninco(?) rope/swingbridge or that stage where the cars fell down a hill about 7' tall More than welcome to use your Red Arrows stage again though, I enjoyed that. Desert400
Hi Martyn, No... we won't have vertiginous Ninco if we're on the calendar. My S1 quite liked it, though... that big sledge of a sump guard did its job, I don't think the front wheels touched once! I'll talk to the members and see how many are keen to help, then I'll know how many stages we can hope to run.
Splitrim
Hi guys, I'd like to be added to the list of entrants, probably a Lancia, although I do have all the others, including the S1 like Nick. Some testing needed I think. Simon Quote Whats not to like...........

charlesx
Hi Mel and all. I have been threatening to build a rally type track for several years. Lo and behold I finally got it going today in its most basic form. I actually started it in July 2018 while my wife was overseas but Branco gave me the last push to get it done. Not sure yet whether it is WRP Round material but I have tried several of my cars without difficulty including my OZ Rally Scaly Ford RS200, a completely standard Ford RS200, my WRP Metro and earlier SCX Toyota 4WD, SCX Ford Escort and finally a standard Scaly Ford Fiesta. Track is very tight with one long straight plus a shorter one but the rest is a variety of sweeping to tight corners all fitted onto a door sized board - 800mm x 1980mm. It was the first time I had used a router so it is a bit rough. Some extra trimming was required in a few places. The only rally track I have ever driven on except for a Ninco one in Wellington was once a few years ago thanks to Mel and his Mount Salt Panorama track while on holiday in Sydney. It has no timing gear or proper controller yet but paint surface did not appear to a problem grip wise. Do not laugh but sample-pot enamel paint was applied with a bit of towelling. Have thoughts of using a timing app on my cell phone for timing. Can anybody suggest a suitable application. Will take a photo over weekend and post on AUSLOT so you can all have a good laugh at my effort. Next step will be to build a sprint type track of the same size as I do not have a lot of room. kalbfellp
I tried the phone app on me if my tracks, it would be a lot of work to use for a round of the WRC. You would be better off using RC on an old PC or laptop, as the results are all collated and can be exported on a spreadsheet. BigC
I'm hoping to join in again for 2019 but it depends on whether I have time to fix the things that I know can be improved on my car so put me down as a maybe and I'll confirm once timings and rule changes are announced. slotcarmann
Hi guys Barbs' car has been lightly serviced and is running OK again since I've tightened the screws up a bit, from where they were when it arrived back. My car is running OK-ish but still too tippy, so I have a bit of work to do on that in the next week or two. Do we have a potential start date yet? My messages on this forum do not currently work for some reason, so e-mail is best at the moment. Cheers Dave

charlesx
Hi Ontheflipside/Mel. I would have thought those dates unobtainable this year. We do not know rules yet or what tyres are to be used so later in year perhaps with event continuing into 2020. kalbfellp
With only minor rule changes and possibly have Only to change rear tyres haw long will it take? I think having this event run over Christmas New Year would be a mistake. OzRally only worked over thst period because the cars were in Sydney for Christmas. Scuderia_Turini
... I think having this event run over Christmas New Year would be a mistake. Totally agree with Phil. Too many work holidays and family commitments, so the event would "stall". charlesx
Hi all. Yes must agree re stalling. The Touring Car Proxy and SCCA Proxy appear to have done just that. Happy with whatever dates as long as achievable. Did not think there were any confirmed rules or anything out yet. Desert400
Quick question for everyone - is it permitted to change the driver's head? I usually put a Team Slot head on my Scaextric bodies because they're more accurate - particularly for Group B. My fettling skills are limited but I can at least make something pretty to chuck at the scenery! Many thanks
