alexis in greece
Great stuff Alexis, what does "Good car but hit the hall too hard" mean? Leo Its a typo i meant wall ,corner bottom right of the tracks photo comes very close to the wall and most cars hit it by sliding but yours hit it very hard so i had to slow down a bit to go round that corner

snurfen
Glad to see the next stage under way - hope you have as much fun as I did, and I agree with most of your reviews. I thought it was maybe "wall" but a slot car hitting a wall is usually a disaster ... slotcarmann
Hi folks So, all very close once again...! Thanks Alexis, and congrats to the usual suspects at the top...! Pleased to see Barbs and I up in midfield again after some dire performances. I had set up both cars so that they would slide, rather than tip, which both did far too easily out of the box. Perhaps I've gone slightly too far in the slidy direction, but as Nos 35 and 36 were two of only six cars with no "offs", I think we're going the right way in general. Hopefully they'll be run in by the time the cars get back to us....lol. Looking forward to another Greek instalment.... Cheers Dave
alexis in greece
SS2 is in the books. You will see some strange results but there is are a couple of reasons for that: -some scenery are in place and the cars started cliping some of them ,the barrier protecting the ambulance taking most of the beating and the hay bales which are molded in urethane. track1 by alexisgaitanis, on Flickr 20181005_104347 by alexisgaitanis, on Flickr 20181005_104324 by alexisgaitanis, on Flickr 20181005_104316 by alexisgaitanis, on Flickr -the loop (top right) CIMG6731 by alexisgaitanis, on Flickr loop by alexisgaitanis, on Flickr It is very tricky,to enter you must have the right amount of drift otherwise you either miss the loop which triggers the minimum lap time and you loose a lap or hit the junction slot wall and deslot. Most of the deslots happened there. Then exiting if you slide too much you dont exit but you go once more in it loosing time.So here are the results SS1 car park clock by alexisgaitanis, on Flickr SS3 on Nicks track on monday Edited October 5, 2018 by alexis in greece
slotcarmann
Great stuff Alexis...! Well done to the top guys, with the first four a decent gap in front, but only 10 seconds between 6th and 16th....lol So, all to play for on the next stage. Good luck folks...! Pepsi62
Well done to those up the top, gee big improvement for the Audi, a 3rd place in stage 2!! with no offs looking forward to Monday's 3rd stage
teamredracing
Thanks Alexis for these 2 rounds so far. Looks as though you have the track in a under ground garage . With the weather you guys are getting you better put the wet suit on and build the track legs up a bit . Congrats to those up the pointy end on both stages so far . May have to consider lowering my standards and building a FORD next time . To many bends for my navvy to concentrate on . If he got his head out of that playboy we might be in with a chance . Just a question about why you used copper tape instead of braid. I found when my first rally track was built , it tended to tear with the difference in weather conditions and the car tyres spinning over it . It's a very demanding stage so concentration must be at a high , so no drinking of the local brew between stages . Thanks for your time and effort and have fun and stay dry. Cheers Craig P.S You may need to build a gate for the Ambo to get out if needed :P . alexis in greece
The track is stored and was built in an undergroud garage but it is used in the living room on the 4th floor. It is designed to fit into the elevator and in my car dimensions are 240X60 centimeters .It is built on styrofoam and the slot is "routed" using a soldering iron, which answers your second question about copper tape which indeed wears too fast.Tonight though i had an idea ,and tested it and seems to work, about using braid .It looks promising,i'll post results when i complete 200 laps

slotcarmann
Hi Alexis Thanks for this round, some surprises through the Stages, but overall the quick cars are up there in general. Well done to cars 74, 7 and 27 for their overall podium spots. Delighted with 8th overall and 12th for Barbs - and with my 3rd on Stage 3. Thanks once again guys.
