Hello all competitors and spectators.

The cars have arrived and this morning I have set them on the infield of the Anaconda.

Some cars look like they have been here before and some are new visitors.

I will give them an inspection and a shake down run before the 6 minute run of glory for each car takes place.

A lovely morning here today.

I have given the cars a shake down run....5 to 10 laps to get a feel for each. A couple have issues that I have noted otherwise read your times and rejoice.

SGS= shallow guide syndrome WGS= wobbly guide syndrome. Both of these issues lead to deslots on my track as the camber changes on a couple of corners and also there are a couple of tight ones.

Hi John...thanks for this. Have the body screws on my 31 car pulled through or something?....I was a little concerned the resin chassis wouldn't last and I'm sure it has got distorted somehow along the competition. It was only a try-out anyway. The car was always slow with that motor...believe it or not it was the best of the bunch after I tried 6 different motors. Is there a significant straight line speed difference

between the cars?

Regards

Alan

Hi Alan

Your car is a bit slower but arrived with the bodyscrews tight as this is the only option or else they fall out so I think the resin has failed slightly. I will try to remedy this before running your car. I will report further when there is more to say.

Cheers

John

#46 Ferrari 275 7.031 something binding.....turns out that the pod was dragging on the track as the screws were very loose and the tires are worn....after adjustments a 4 tenths improvement.

#31 Talbot 7.131 body screw issues....after some tweaking of holes and a bit of fiddling a two tenths improvement but a more consistent performer.

Some of these cars have had a rough ol time.

Hi John,

Thanks for all you have done so far - trust you like your interior in the #66.... The motor seems to be going ok, but you'll note that there's quite a variety in performance of similarly spec'd motors.....

But I think it's the PG tires holding the #66 back a bit - what do you think?

Cheers,

Tony.

There's only two questions:

1. What direction do you go

2. What's the Lap Record?

Hi Tony, I had another look at the car and it does run smoothly and handle well. The rear tires look well worn but not unserviceable.

The pace of the car seems to be down to the motor and/or final drive ratios..... is there a ten tooth pinion on there?

About the motors as i have not run these cars personally , but judging by the comments and the times this year in this proxy there is something going on with motors , i bought 6 motors a little while ago from Canada and just got round to testing them, and 4 are ok not bad but 2 are a fair bit faster and one is knocking 15.384 on the RPM meter and it,s not run in properly yet, i know there can be a SLIGHT differance but not to that degree, on the tyre front Bov running yellowdogs this year but i have found not a lot of differance if any compared to PG's on Carrera track , wood might make a differance perhaps someone can tell us .

Hi John - 11/29 (2.64 :1 ratio.... ) on the #66 - so the gearing / roll-out is in the ballpark...... I probably could've done a better job of motor prep / installation......

Lessons for the second go round...

Cheers,

Tony.

I have just finished the run for each car and my brain hurts....results to come when I collate them.

I have also arranged for a guest judge for the concours, he will visit sometime in the week.

Hi John,

Thanks for putting on the round- congrats to the various Podiumites....

That's really close between 2nd and 6th.... and indeed between a lot of places down the totem pole.....

No deslots for the #66 must mean it's consistently ..............slow..... Oh well, at least it gets to travel a lot of the world.......

Cheers,

Tony.
