Thanks for the information Den, much appreciated.

Good to know what fits the brass chassis's. Have a few motors floating around I'll see if they're the correct ones.

I have a couple of the HIT chassis here and the wheels on the plastic chassis do look similar to what is on these.

Looking at the yellow (Porsche) car it looks as if it's not the correct chassis as it doesn't suit the body posts in the pic.

The Sharknose looks to be factory fitted John.

At least with the information I can do a search on the net and try find some pics of the same cars/chassis.

cheers

Matt

Pretty sure the yellow Porsche is VIP.

The one under that is Revell from one of the set cars I think.

My top shot of Shark-nose body shows it is the same model as in your pictures.

The underneath shot of body and Marusan chassis show how the respective mounting posts and chassis holes line up.

Marusan/Atlas may have factory fitted the chassis in your picture but I'd be leaning towards the aluminium chass in my picture.

The plastic chassis may be from a Revell or IMC home set car both have similar mountings.

Cheers Pil/Big Den,

Looks like the chassis isn't the original then.

I did have a search on the net and couldn't find any pics of the Ferrari Sharknose, no matter I can only restore it with what I have any way.

Closest I've seen for the Yellow Porsche Carrera 6 is a pic of a MRRC one on the LASCM site.

cheers

Matt

Hello again Matt

If you do Google searches on the following :

'marusan ferrari sharknose slot car' and 'marusan hurricane set'

you should get a few good pics of how the Marusan Sharknose looked in its original habitat,

Based on the those that I have seen (and for the companion Lotus in the set) the only decoration was the paper number stickers

A few years back I obtained decals from Pattos with a grand plan to decorate both the Ferrari and Lotus in liveries more appropriate to the era in which they raced. The cars and the decals are still part of my UFO category (UnFinished Objects).

However I did repaint one of my Lotuses in green and yellow in 1997 and raced it in the inaugural Adelaide Grand Prix ... it played a small role in the video "Waiting For The Green".
