I am building up this Slot.it white kit as my entry for the DTM Classic in September.
I am pretty pleased with the main spray job. The photo seems to accentuate the errors at some shut lines and surface. In the flesh, it looks okay.
The red is TS49 bright red, the yellow is TS47 Chrome yellow, and the blue is TS53 deep metallic blue - which looks so good, I'll find another project to use it on.

When it is done, it will look roughly like this - I know my blue is darker. [Should've gone to spec-savers ]

Well done Mark. Like the colour scheme. A nice break from the Slot-it colour schemes.

Regards Chas Le Breton.

What are people using to clearcoat over waterslide decals these days?

I am a little nervous of Tamiya TS13. I used to use Johnson's Future, but I don't think it is on supermarket shelves anymore.

Actually, apart from the blue to yellow roof, the bleed isn't too bad. It looks worse seeing the shut lines at an angle in 2D, but the striped areas are okay.

When I paint with auto paint I use the same clear.
But If the paint is unknown or factory I Testors decal bonder over any paint or decals.

where did you get the decals from? Are they pattos' or you printed yourself?
If you want to be on the safe side, go for the tamiya x22 acrylic: the only downside is that it will not look super glossy (but I like the final effect).

When the decals are completely dry use TS13. Let that dry for a few days and then you can use an automotive clear coat over the top for a much more durable finish.

Taking my inspiration from Mark or just a glutton for punishment, I decided to build a white kit for the 2019 DTM Classic for this weekend. This is about the 4th white kit build I have painted up in last 2 months- the wife is giving me the eye about don't I have some rooms to renovate.

Probably spent too much time on the body rather than the running gear..... well at least it will look cool running slow around Mac's track.
Used Tamiya Gold lacquer rattle can, Patto stick on decals for a F40 and clear coat with Mr Hobby 501 which hasn't attacked the decals.

That's a cracker Mike - and don't try and fool us by saying "at least it will look cool running slow around Mac's track" your tunes are very quick.

My body took a beating last year, and I didn't seal the decals well enough, so I am being lazy and running the CA40 Martini chassis - but with a
"future livery" supplied by Slot.it - hint, it's promoting unhealthy fast food M M M M M

I was tempted to run a Mercedes, as I have a couple of liveries here - but if I got anywhere, I'd forever suffer the stigma of having blagged the field :D
