Ontheflipside
Hi Mel just realised i was asking the wrong person in Gary and remembered you are running it this year , so as my car is rated illegal pointless running it just to get DNF's everywhere so can you please send it back to me. Peter Gunn
Interesting stats there , be interesting to see how this year compares with last year on the rest of the tracks in the series, see what improvement or not have been made. alexis in greece
Thanks Gary for the round and stats, quite a surprise this year the 1st 6 cars are slower (except Phils which is approx equal) than last year.Any theories explaining this?Age of tires? gazza
Any theories explaining this?Age of tires? Atmospheric conditions?, position of Uranus?, my left testicle was extremely itchy during the round, who knows. The track hasn't been used for a while and even though it was cleaned and had hours of running different cars, there's nothing like racing to get the grip factor to the top level, which shows on the times from stage 1 for some of the cars. The weather does play a part on my track, it's has glass windows on two sides and if the suns up it warms the surface very quickly and helps with the grip factor, last Saturday as with today winter dropped buy just to remind us that it's on it's way, and it was overcast and cold until mid morning, track temp now 12.5 deg C I don't think the tyres had anything to do with it, i think it was just bad track preparation on my part, at least being a single lane everyone was in the same boat. Ontheflipside
Yes Gaz it was a cold weekend. Cant remember being that cold last year. Times on my track can vary up to 2 seconds in a 30sec lap with just 5deg c temperature changes during a race. In its old location we had afternoon sun on 1/3 of the track and that could lower lap times by 3 to 4 seconds a lap. Its when we achieved record lap times. We do try and run each stage under the same conditions but not always achievable. Luck of the draw for some cars. Summer events not so much difference. BTW. Cars have been wrapped and snugly packed and now off across Bass Straight to Hobart Tasmania (just north of the Antarctic ) Phil has just finished another proxy so not sure when he will be running round 3. He may be doing another round (4) that's up to him if he has time as he has a lot of personal things on his plate. Ontheflipside
Points after Round 2 Dave (Slotcarmann) forgot to post cars # 35 & 36 before heading to Cyprus for holidays. They are due to be in Scotland before that round Peter Gunn's car and Zegas car now confirm to the rules after some TLC, and will be OK to run in Tasmania Edited May 22, 2018 by Ontheflipside Quote I can't believe that I wanted to grow up Mount Salt Panorama Track Combined Road and Rally Track built near Salt Pan Creek Padstow - Sydney A quick build rally track 2017 WRP Round 11 at Mt Salt Panorama https://i128.photobu...zpss7sqiwfj.jpg
