don't worry Keith if there is lots of interest I am happy to allow more than the usual 24 cars

the more the better isn't that what we all want

yes you have been a very good supporter for quite a few years in the NZ proxies as have a lot of others

and I wont let those guy's miss out

proxies are about getting cars and guy's competing from all around and enjoying the process and progress

this is what I would love to see and why I run the 2 proxies that I run

I took over from drw21 a few years back so the proxies would live on and help keep the slot car spark alive

that is my part in helping to keep our hobby going

I hosted a round of the Ford v Porsche proxy a couple of weeks back and that has 39 cars one of which is mine

and on my 3 lane track so 13 races to get them all done went a lot quicker than expected

Holdens rule the rest just drool

I can't speak for all newbies to your proxy but I'm fine with waiting on a list out of respect to the veterans or a go or go home proposition (a shootout for a spot in the race) if spaces are limited.

Rosko and CrockettNZ thank you for the information it's very helpful. One last question.

Are tungsten weights allowed or just lead as a solid and tungsten as a putty?

yes lead as a solid if you could call it that and tungsten as a putty

reason being that there is no metal that could be used as chassis bracing

Ok - so it now being 12.15 am on Sunday May 13th in NZ - I can lodge my entry...

#55 Ford - Capri Class B

Do I get a prize for being the 1st official entry? :D

Cheers,

Tony.

There's only two questions:

1. What direction do you go

2. What's the Lap Record?

Entries for the 2017 NZ Group 5 Proxy Series are now open (May 13th 2017). Entries will be closed on the 22nd July or earlier if a full field of 30 cars has been reached.

Group 5 cars need to be in to me in Napier for tech check no later than Friday 30th July

D Carter

15 Chester st

Taradale 4112

Napier

New Zealand

Cars will be checked as they arrive, if for some reason a car doesn’t pass the ‘Tech Check’ I will contact the owner via e-mail and go from there.

Once the car passes the ‘Tech Check’ it will be safely impounded until required for the 1st race.

Just like the 2017 Series there will be 8 Races that make up the Group 5 Proxy Series but only the best 7 results will be included for the points tally.

Class A and Class B cars will run there own separate championship but will also run in the overall points championship

this will give us 2 winners for the series

Class A winner

Class B winner

Overall winner will be either the class A or B winner

Entries will only be officially accepted once full payment has been received with entrant’s name and car details.

Entry fees for the 2017 NZ GROUP 5 Proxy Series will be the same as last year NZ-20.00, AU-20.00, US-20.00, EURO-15.00.

entry fee is due on the 30th July

The entry fee is non refundable once paid.

Once a car has been officially accepted it cannot be exchanged for another car.

If you are from outside of the Napier area it would be best to e-mail me [ mini70clubman@gmail.com ] for payment details, that way I can keep track much easier, I wouldn’t want any one to miss out.

if you want to use paypal use mini70clubman@gmail.com and your forum name as a reference

If you have any queries don’t hesitate to e-mail me at [ mini70clubman@gmail.com ] or PM on forum I will answer any questions that may arise but please read all of it as most answers can be found there. (I will be posting more info in due course)

at this stage there is a maximum of 6 of each model (irrespective of livery or brand) that can be entered. eg; no more than 6x Ford Capri cars in the series regardless of brand and livery

at this stage only 1 car per-entrant can be entered

if there is room for a 2nd entry later on the 2nd entry has to be in the other class

if you have 2 cars entered 1 must be class A and the other must be class B

this is the same as last year

Once there is a full field of 30 cars or if there is room for more Cars to be entered, I will advise this on this forum at an appropriate time. I will keep you all posted via this forum on how the entries are going.

if there are more than 30 people wanting to enter it will be the first 30 that have payed there entry fee locking their car on the grid that will race

also if there is more than 30 people wanting to enter the ones that come in from 30 on will go onto a waiting list

if there are any entrants that pull out before the due date 30th July

that list will be used to give those people first option ( in order of the list ) to get on the grid

I’m expecting the usual suspects from previous years will be returning to enter this GRP5 Proxy Series as well as new guy's might get on the track which would be great.

Gluing and truing of tires is highly recommended due to the number of laps the car will be doing throughout the series.

If a car arrives with the tires not glued or trued, that car will be run the entire series the way it comes.

sorry about not getting this open first thing this morning but I had to be back at noho marae by 6 am to help all the tane { husbands } cook breakfast

for all of the wāhine { women } as it's mothers day and I slept in so didn't get time to sort it before I rushed out the door

and as it is one car per entrant at this stage

those that have already put 2 cars in the hat please choose between them for now

if there is room later on you will be given the chance to enter the second one

this to allow for as many entrants as we can within the limit of cars

I will start making a entry list shortly
